Hunter Steakhouse - Oceanside

If you enjoy old-school steakhouses, then you are in for a treat. The food was excellent and the service was second to none. I highly recommend this spot if you are in the area. 🔥

We celebrated our anniversary there and it was great. Good waiter, great service and the food was super. Even though they had a large party of 55 people, we got our food on time with no issues. Our waiter was Adrian.

Because I dine here frequently I'm not going to talk about this last visit. Service was excellent though.

Over priced restaurant for average food and service. Our server gave us the impression she was in a hurry and rushing through our meal. When we spend that much money on a meal, we'd like to enjoy our cocktails before getting our food, enjoy our food before being asked about dessert. The entire evening seemed rushed by our server. The filet mignon was good and cooked as requested. The baked potatoes seemed burned, and the vegetables were boring. The carrot cake tasted like spice cake and wasn't as good as we hoped.

What a great value! The food is excellent. We enjoyed the Prime Rib, Salmon, and Filet. The horseradish is great. The restaurant was not overly noisy so we could have a conversation at our table. The location is equidistant for our two families making it a good choice. We will definitely return.

My family and i have been dining at hunters for 5 years and we have never had such lousy service and the steaks are smaller and the cooks overcooked are steaks. We were celebrating our mother's birthday and we all were so disappointed and will not be going back.

We found our server very inattentive and slow. Our original order was served as ordered and I had to wave the server over to get the order completed. It seemed like we had to wait a long time for the server to return and bring the bill. The food was not notable. My wife had a rib eye and ordered it medium but it arrived charred on the outside and closer to medium well on the inside. I had the prime rib and found it to be better than the rib eye but it arrived luke warm. For the price, I doubt that we will return.

Great prime rib lunch deal - petite cut cooked perfectly medium rare as requested with au jus and horseradish sauce on the side. Also a baked potato with sour cream and green onions and a small Caesars salad for about $22 pp. Our party of four was happy. Service was a bit slow but think there were only two servers, one filling in as hostess too, for the few tables at noon. But the service was friendly despite having to wave her down to be seated, orders taken and for the bill. I would still consider going back. The place is decorated in 1980s steakhouse style but if they refreshed, prices would likely rise

This place is an Oceanside gem! Amazing service, amazing value for the food, and amazing ambiance!!

One of the few remaining restaurants with Prime Rib and a salad bar style garden salad. Service was outstanding, reasonable pricing on cocktails keeps us coming back to Hunter Steakhouse - Oceanside.

Food was great, service was not. Waitress was very inattentive and it wasn't busy. Asked for dessert menu, she brought us the check instead. Was clearly caught up talking with regulars and not tending anyone else.

We were a little late for our reservation but they sat us with no problem. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious .

Service was good, Nick was spread a little thin for the number of tables he had. But provided professional and friendly service. The four course meal offered on Mondays-Wednesdays great option. The tableside salad bar option was exceptional. The one thing that really frustrates me is getting my entree before finishing salad/soup. To many plates on the table. Primerib was really good, cooked perfect med-rare and perfect portion. M My husband felt the temperature inside was to warm. Maybe dessert should be scoop of icecream during summer months.

The service was great and ambiance nice although it could be cleaner and there was an odd smell. The food was good but a bit too pricey!

Appetizer sampler was excellent. Caesar salad, table side salad bar, split pea soup all excellent. Tomahawk was cooked perfectly. Wife asked for end end cut of prime rib and they were able to accommodate, also excellent. Ribeye with whiskey peppercorn sauce was excellent. Veggies were delicious. Any gratin potatoes were great, but I think there were more onions than potatoes. Latia took care of our table, she was amazing. Very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. Will be back more often.
