I am a caretaker for an older woman, and she loves good BBQ. However, she is extremely picky, and up until yesterday, we could not find a good BBQ place near her house, going at least 0 for 3. I looked up BBQ places yesterday, and found this little BBQ joint less than 5 minutes from her house. For less than $20, we split a combo meal with 2 sides. The tri-tip was the highlight for sure! It was cut super thin, which is good for her since her dentures do not allow her to chew on thick pieces of meat. The flavor was, for me at least, perfecto! As their primary business is catering, this particular restaurant is only open for takeout on Friday and Saturday, so plan accordingly!!!

We’ve been on the lookout for a good BBQ spot and were excited to discover this place. It’s a small, cozy spot with a large communal table and stools for dining in, or you can easily order takeout. The owners are a friendly, welcoming couple.
We tried the tri-tip sandwich special with sides. The thinly sliced meat was tender, perfectly smoked, and paired well with their flavorful BBQ sauce on a soft roll. The beans were hearty with just a touch of spice. They also offer other cuts of tri-tip, including sliced roast options if you call ahead to order.
We’re already planning a return visit to try more of what they offer.

We have had BBQ at several places in Oceanside and Izzy's beats them all! They provided dinner for 12 of us and there was not a bite left! We had tri tip, pulled pork and ribs and all were outstanding. You have to try it!

Meat was super fatty and tough. There was very little seasoning which is why they probably add so much bbq sauce. Mac and cheese was super thick and pasta was overcooked. Not worth the money.

Five stars all the way. Izzy’s Smoked BBQ absolutely crushed it. Great service, big portions, and everything tasted incredible. You can tell they care about their food and their customers. This is MY NEW GO-TO BBQ spot in Oceanside. Highly recommend! You won’t find better BBQ in Oceanside.

In response to the owner. We were not there today before opening. We were there last week and in the afternoon. Food was cold, even the people next to us sent their food back for that reason. Mac and cheese was mushy and the meat (tri tip) was fatty and flavorless.

Currently, Izzy's is only open Friday and Saturday, 11:30-5 (unless they're sold out; then they close earlier (go early!). We've had everything on the menu and it's all so good! The meats (sausage, chicken, tri-tip) are all moist and flavorful. The sides are all good (beans, slaw, potato salad, mac and cheese, corn bread). You can get a sandwich with a side for under $10; plates are $15-20, depending on what you get. Izzy will be slowly adding more items as warranted. Located in the middle of a strip mall with plenty of parking. (Sausage, ribs, potato salad, slaw, and beans are my favorites.)
