Went to lunch around 1:30 the other day. My daughter had the maui rub plate…the ribs looked like they’d been sitting around all morning, really thin cut, dry…and $20 for that plate?
I had the loco moco, it was meh, hardly impressive.
My grandson had an order of lumpia…filled with some kinda mushy vegetable matter. These tasted like pre-made mass production store bought…terrible. I could make better lumpia in my sleep.
And the total for lunch was nearly $70???
Won’t be coming back…bad juju, no aloha here.

⭐️ 1 Star – Never Coming Back
Absolutely terrible experience at this L&L Barbecue location in Oceanside. The service was downright awful — the workers were rude, dry, and acted like helping customers was a burden. When my wife politely asked for extra sauce, they gave her a full-blown attitude. I was shocked.
They handed me two tiny sauces for a full chicken katsu plate and six spam musubis. I told them that clearly wasn’t enough, and they coldly responded that they only give out two sauces unless you pay for more. Seriously? For the prices they’re charging, you’d think they could at least give a reasonable amount of sauce without acting like you’re asking for the world.
Overpriced food, terrible customer service, and a bad vibe overall. This isn’t the aloha spirit — it’s just rude and stingy. Won’t be eating here again. Plenty of other spots that actually care about their customers.

Not the best experience as far as the food. We order 4 mix meals but all the beef, ribs and chicken were dry, old and overcooked. We even got a piece of the stuff on the grill. We’ve been to few L&L places and didn’t have this problem.

Decided to try it for lunch got the Lupia and the light garlic shrimp. They both were good but imagine trying to eat a salad and you've got a plastic fork, you cannot poke the salad at all. It was really disappointing because the salad could have been really good but you need real utensils to eat that food. Everything is served in styrofoam to go containers even if you tell him that you're eating it there to me that was really odd.

First time eating Hawaiian BBQ and it was good...I got the spam, egg, and white rice...the only thing that took me by surprise is how expensive it was got 3 things and came close to $50 bucks...so it'll be a little while before I go back.

The food is delicious, and everything is clean. The service is standard—not particularly inviting but not rude either. The atmosphere is basic, but with food this good, I'm more than satisfied with my takeout order. I am grateful for the taste of Hawaiian barbecue you've brought to us. God bless you for it! ?

$20ish dollars each for 2 regulars. Got my classic bbq chicken and two extra scoops of salad on the side. Was $48 total. They give you a lot of food. Love it. Love them. Best Hawaiian bbq, in my opinion.

The food here is absolutely delicious! My favorite is the BBQ chicken plate, and then I get a triple scoop of the Mac salad.
