My son and I were visiting Oceanside, California from Las Cruces, New Mexico. The Lighthouse Oyster Bar and Grill was the first restaurant we attended once we got into town. Our server named Chuy was very attentive and answered all of our questions. We started out sitting at the stool bar top overlooking the harbor. It started to get chilly after ordering appetizers so Chuy suggested we move to a table as it would be warmer for us. He was very accommodating with a delightful and charming personality. We will forever remember this experience and will definitely be back in the future. Thank you for being apart of our unforgettable trip.

Ordered our drinks, they were super watered down and the shrimp in my bloody tasted fishy. We ordered the halibut. I was hoping that the fish would have been cooked perfectly but sadly it wasn't. I ordered it blackened. The inside of the fish was yummy, however the top and bottom were dried out so gave very little blackened flavor. I make blackened halibut 2 or three times a week at home. Disappointed that I paid almost 40 for a plate that wasn't what I expected. The veggies were too crisp. The mashed potatoes were dry. I had been wanting to try this place for quite sometime and decided to choose this place to celebrate some great news we were given. Sadly, we won't be returning.

Had a great Friday evening here with a friend, the views and atmosphere were immaculate! I had the ceviche and clam chowder and my friend regularly comes here for the oysters. The staff was very friendly and service was great. Would definitely come back again or bring people visiting from out of town.

Very mediocre tacos, lobster bisque. Fish was ok but overpriced ($35$). View was nice. Overall don’t recommend.

Food was excellent. We had oysters on the half shell, oysters Rockefeller, fried calamari to start. Oysters were fresh and came with great sauces. Party had surf n turf, with a perfectly cooked steak and a perfectly cooked lobster tail. Fettuccine Alfredo with mixed seafood. Luis' Especial. Fishermans fry. Everyone agreed the food was amazing and looked forward to coming again.

Great place, great vibe!
All the food was cooked to perfection, however, none of it had any seasoning. I got the pork chop and there was a sauce that accompanied it. The sauce too was rather flavorless.
Even some basic seasoning would've taken the meal to another level.

The only thing I got that was good was my beer and it came out of a can just like there scallops, got peel your own shrimp which were mushy because they had been un frozen and sitting water hours before we ate it. Luis espeacial was bland just like the chips and salsa. Wife got a steak medium, and it arrived blue rare. Sat down didn’t see a waiter for 25 minutes. And it all costed me $150 should have went to jack in the box.

This was in the top 10 worst ever restaurant food we have ever had. Ever. My blackened fish tasted so bland even putting salt on it didn’t help. The wasabi mashed potatoes didn’t taste anything like wasabi. It didn’t even taste like it had butter on it. We ordered clams and mussels as an appetizer and it was okay, nothing special but my brother ordered the clams and mussels linguini and the mussels were not good at all they smelled so sour we couldn’t even keep it on the table. We didn’t make it to our condo 7 minutes away before he started throwing up in the car. Not one person out of 7 liked the food, I tried eating my daughter’s chicken tenders and even those were dry and tasteless. The only good thing we had was the artichoke. This place is grossly overpriced for the quality and effort of this food. Our waitress was really nice though. Save your money, and go ANYwhere else.
I’m just hoping we don’t have to take my brother to the emergency room tonight, and my son because he ate one too and we have a 6 hour drive on Sunday.
Not only that but there was a photographer taking pictures on the upstairs deck and he would take about 6 pictures of each table and his flash was insane, it started making one of my kids dizzy and she had to put her hood up. If someone up there had photosensitive epilepsy they’d have dropped.
Edited to add my son got sick too.
