Low key sad I cant rate any lower being far from home wanting good Caribbean food I thought I found the spot this food was so bunzz would a any jamaican ancestor rolling in they grave this why I miss florida

First time walking into this spot, and let me just say—what an experience! I came in to try the oxtails, and they did not disappoint. The meat was fall-off-the-bone tender, flavorful, and not overly fatty. Paired with the Jamaican rice, which was soft and fluffy, it was perfection.

The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff shows true hospitality, making you feel right at home. I also tried one of their Jamaican drinks—refreshing and packed with flavor, definitely a must-have! The empanadas with spiced meat had just the right kick to balance everything out.

If I had one small critique, it would be the plantains—I think if they made them fresh to order, it would take them to the next level.

Overall though, this place is a gem in Oceanside. Pricing is fair, portions are generous, and the food quality is phenomenal. For me, it’s a strong 9.2/10 and an easy 5/5 stars. If you’re craving authentic Jamaican food, this is THE spot to check out!

Owner struck up a great conversation about military service and family life in the Caribbean. Great food, uses real Jamaican scotch bonnets in the salsa. I'll need to frequent this place.

This place is such a gem. Delicious cooking, wonderful owners and staff, and always a low key dance party inside.

Goat curry is exceptional, as is the coconut curry chicken, escovitch fish, and jerk chicken. Collard greens, mango salsa...rice is on point. Man, I'm headed back rn.

I don't know if it was the time of day that I went there. The chicken patty was very dry. the oxtail was so mushy. the rice lacked taste. the cabbage and collard greens were good. As a west Indian, it could of bee better. I won't be going there again.

One Love Island Cuisine is a hidden gem in Carlsbad (San Diego area). Hands down the best Curry and Oxtail in Southern California. I grew up in NYC, surrounded by the best Caribbean food in North America, so my bar is high. One Love surpassed all my expectations. The flavors are authentic and addictive. Honestly, this might be some of the best food I’ve ever had. I wish I could give them 10 stars.

Honestly one of the best Jamaican Food resturaunts in San Diego. Curry Chicken Patty is a must, but they offer Jerk and Beef Patty too. The dough is always so flavorful and flaky, and the filling did not miss out on any love either-Full of flavor!!! Mango salad is an underrated side, so refreshing and light. I tried their Jerk Wings bowl which were tender and coated to perfection 👌 Their plantain is not greasy nor dry. The resturaunt is always clean and cozy. The owner is personable, thoughtful, passionate and kind. I am amazed at how seamless her menu, environment, and service is. Definitely give it a try

The review for this place is still up. I had the oxtail free I had to get white rice they had no rice and beans. Am my plantains were burnt. Hopefully I caught him on a bad night and I'll be able to change this review because I will be going back

Growing up with a Jamaican Step Father The food is very Delicious and Authentic! Very courteous and Great customer service!!! This is a Must Try!! The curry chicken Patties are very Good !

Love the food here! It’s our first time and we inhaled our meals 😂 I had the brown stew chicken w rice, plantains and stewed cabbage. Hubby had coconut curry chicken, rice, collard greens and salad. The chicken was sooo tender in both dishes and generous portions. I had already started eating before taking the photo so disregard the bare bone on the top of the dish- I immediately dug into the tender chicken that was falling off the bone. Highly recommend…. now to make it to beach to walk off our lunch (or nap lol)!
