Honestly, this place is a must-visit if you're in North County. Dope selection of new and older comics, sick line-up of drinks, and an available gaming console for getting pwnd by kids half my age. Place rocks. I'll be back.

I've been coming here for about 3 weeks now and I can't believe I've been missing out all this time. The drinks I reccomend are definitely the Taskmaster & Horde-Chata. On top of that there's a corner with consoles and a nice little place to play Smash Bros. Gotta stop by every week. Wonderful combination shop- comics and coffee. Does it get any better than this? Enjoyed a nice run in the city and stumbled on this shop to cold down with a cold brew. I'm sure glad that I did. Seth is super friendly and a creative barista. Also knowledgeable in comic selections as it has been a few moons since I've last read and collected. There aren't many comic/coffee combos out there. Seriously, I don't know why. All I know is that Panels does it right. Nice coffee/comic selection, indoor and outdoor seating, and friendly personalities.

Literally the best coffee and experience! Probably take a walk to go there 3-5 times a week and my favorite is the Swamp Thing very friendly baristas!! Lots of comics to choose from and retro games to play! I've gotten so many free coffees from utilizing their stamp cards as well!

Such a sweet place to go to for your comics & coffee! Been wanting a dope place like this locally to just hang out and skim through some back issues. I do hope they sell some pokemon cards and more manga in the future because I would hit this place up weekly if so. Super glad this place exists though and hope it stays for a long time.

I find the solid reviews of this establishment very surprising. My wife and I ventured over to this coffee shop around 9:00 AM on a Saturday. You know, a normal time you would go to a coffee shop after sleeping in a little on the weekend. There were absolutely no other customers. When we walked in the door neither of the two 'employees' were doing anything that could be called work. One was sitting by the window playing guitar and the other was also sitting and reading. Reading employee got up and got behind the register and attempted to take our order. I ordered a cortado and he asked me what that was. I pointed it out under the espresso beverages on the large menu behind him and the paper menu he had on the countertop. He said he didn't know what that was, but he would figure it out. I pivoted and said forget it, I'll just have an americano. He then shouted over to guitar playing employee if he knew what a cortado was and he also said he'd never heard of it. At that point we left quite bewildered by this experience; they didn't even try to recover the situation. It was like someone had dropped off two stoned 16 year olds who had never made a cup of coffee in their life and said, "Just unlock the door and see what happens." The place was also quite dirty which is not surprising considering if there are no customers everyone just sits around. There are so many other good coffee spots in town I wouldn't waste your time at Panels.
Where else can you enjoy reading your favorite comic book superheroes and a cup of coffee and a delicious pastry? Best comic book coffee bar in town, and it's close by the beach.
