Always super busy but well worth the wait. If they see you standing on line they will offer to reserve a table for you while you are waiting to be served. Nice! Others have raved about the chicken salad sandwich on croissant -- also my favorite, and I second the rave! Desserts to die for! Outdoor seating available. I have lunch here whenever I am in Oceanside.

We have loved Petite Madeline for a long, long time. So when we decided to get married, we knew there was only one option for the cake and desserts at the reception. We fed everyone a huge meal and then brought out the desserts. And they were gone in a short amount of time. Everyone we talked to said, “Oh, this is so good!” I was really surprised how fast the desserts and cake got eaten after how much food everyone already ate. But it is because Petite Madeline knows how to make people happy. They know how to make good food that is not dessert, too. We eat there frequently, and we always love it. Their Benedicts are so delicious. Their Greek bowl is incredible. Their waffles are tasty. Their coffee is perfect. Their tea is excellent. My only problems with Petite Madeline are that they don't have a location right next door to me and they aren't open 24 hours.

I actually do like this place, but I made the mistake of spending a lot of money on their food, and it was just not good unfortunately… their pastries however are fantastic and get a 10/10 from me, but their food seriously needs some work.

Let me say, this is one of the only good restaurants in the city. Most chefs are plebs with a knife, pretending they have skills. Most people have no taste or have given up on standards after a lifetime of mid food. However, Petite Madeline is incredible, the chef cooks so well! Everything was cooked excellently, salted perfect (so rare these days), and the crogel was so completely fantastic my hope in restaurants was renewed. Stop mid maxing on dog water food and come to Petite Madeline, it will become you go-to.

We absolutely love this adorable little bakery! We hit it several times when we vacation in Oceanside! Our daughter even dreams about their waffles lol. Also can’t say enough about their amazing staff! Shout out to Stephanie, KC, and the cooks! My daughter said compliments to the chef lol! It’s a ritual of ours to eat breakfast here when in OS. We plan to move to OS in 2027 and can’t wait to make this more of a routine to eat here! We also own a family business in CO. a Spa. We plan to open a spa someday in Oceanside too when we move here! I came for the pancake breakfast with bacon and eggs. Everything was good except the bacon. It tasted different. Perhaps it wasn't pork. I didn't get any pastries but will next time. They looked really good.
You order and pay at the counter. Grab your napkins, silverware, and water at the self serve station then grab a table. They will bring your order. I would come back to give the pastries a try.
