If you are Vegan and you would like a good meal, definitely go somewhere else. Options are scarce and NOT GOOD. The chef was not interested in being accommodating. If you are not vegan, the food seems to be fine. Just…fine.

I’m really sad to write this review because I had high expectations. We booked a reservation for seven people for a little Baby Sprinkle for one of our friends this past Sunday. When we arrived at our 10:30am reservation, they seemed like they didn’t know about the reservation. At that point they had to get the table set up, which took about 15 minutes. I had intentionally made a reservation for inside and they sat us outside where unfortunately there were bees/flies and the ambience wasn’t what we had planned on. Online it states that breakfast is served daily from 7 AM to 11 AM and has a full menu. Unfortunately when we were sat we are informed that there is a much smaller menu on Saturday and Sunday because they offer brunch. We were not planning on getting brunch, so this was disappointing to find out. The server was nice, but once we ordered our food he never came back until we were done with all our food which lead to no one’s water being filled up until a much later time. Overall it was a nice place, and we went in with an expectation of having nicer service due to the pricing of things, and the overall quality of the restaurant, but unfortunately, we were sadly disappointed. Seems like there was a lack of communication in multiple areas of the business. I only write this review so that hopefully they can improve and better serve future groups of people.

We stayed at the seabird and dined at piper because of the Amex platinum rewards. We were absolutely delighted by this restaurant!! All of the service was incredibly attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, the food was delicious and served quickly and hot. For dinner we split the whole branzino with market vegetables and it was divine. My fiancé almost always complains that portions aren’t big enough for his appetite, but even he was full. The tuna appetizer was so good!! For breakfast we loved the super açaí bowl.

Special shoutout to our evening waitress, I’m so sorry I forgot her name, but she also gave us tons of tourism tips for Oceanside

Ribeye steak was a large portion and delicious. The in-laws enjoyed their seabass. We’ll be back.

We stayed at the Mission Pacific Resort and breakfast was included with our FHR booking. Reservation was made through the desk at check in. Our 9am time a lot was easy to handle in a weeks day. The crowd was very light…weekends are much busier…a buffet is served on weekends.

We were seated at a window table with a nice view of the outside street and terrace. The menu had lots of options that all sounded delicious. Beginning with a cappuccino that is the best I have had lately in my travels…thick, foamy and full of flavor. Selecting the Crab Eggs Benedict, my wife had the O’side breakfast. The food all came relatively quickly. The poached eggs on my Benedict were overcooked The rest of the breakfast was cooked just right and was filling and full of flavor.

Lunch for two-- $98. As a local I wanted to love this place ... but didn't. Went in for the SD Restaurant week special. Not so special. Not busy at all but had to flag down our server multiple times for service/water etc. Generally slow service with no other customers at the end of lunch hour. Read other reviews with same comment. We got our first course (salad/soup) and the second course came out immediately after. What's the rush with food but slower service for everything else? The food was meh... 3 courses for the special, the salad needed something more (very ordinary - some greens, herbs, radishes, peas, green goddess dressing) crab roll (dull-- crab and avo on a bun) banana pie (tasty but my first piece had a hair in it, sent it back and got a fresh piece but... ick factor stayed) Second person meal was soup and chicken sando. Soup was luke warm/cool. Had to ask to reheat. Sando looked good but dry chicken and nothing special (where's the flavor?) Dessert-- Brownie-- dry-- below average, didn't bother to finish it. I felt like I should have been comped (meal $25) for a hair in my food but we paid (with auto gratuity and services charges on the bill) and left. Check your bill for add on service charges. We had 2 wines and 2 lunches. $98. Won't return. However, the bar facing the ocean The Shore Room looked nice, better views really nice ambiance-- I'll try that next for happy hour. Opens at 3 pm. Happy hour 3-5 M-Th. 20% Off Bites & Sips Monday & Tuesday. The food pics on insta look good for the bar. The lobby of Shorebird resort is beautiful. Very inviting. 2 hours of free parking with valet.

Came here for restaurant week, such a cute vibe and a great concept but didn't live up the hype at all. My soup came out cold, there was a hair in our banana cream pie (which they graciously replaced but nothing was comped) and we had to ask for each and every water refill. Seems the consensus of reviewers agree- Service is slow and, although very sweet, not very attentive. Overall the food was fine, not great, and a little avant garde for my taste. Would love to see better service and a more creative menu that didn't rely on gimmicks.

This was by far the best meal I’ve had in a restaurant in the last two years! The food was absolutely exceptional – truly high-end in both taste and presentation. Our server was not only professional and knowledgeable but also one of the kindest people I’ve ever met in a dining experience. Every detail, from start to finish, made the evening unforgettable. I enjoyed every single moment of it and can’t wait to return!

Piper is located inside The Seabird Ocean Resort in Oceanside and offers an upscale breakfast experience. The coffee was rich and flavorful, and the Eggs Benedict were well-prepared with solid technique — especially paired with the duck fat potatoes, which were cooked perfectly.

The service, however, was a bit inconsistent — at times slow, though attentive and good when the server was available.

Came here for a fast Dinner, they delivered. We had a retreat to attend, and had to eat fast and go. Our waiter was super understanding and got our food out. The goat cheese ravioli was to die for!! Excellent. Wish I had more time to explore more of the amazing foods they had. Definitely a place to visit!!

Our family of four stayed at the Seabird and tried both breakfast and dinner at the Piper. The food was amazing, and we were lucky to have Odessa as our server four mornings in a row, as she provided us with excellent customer service and was so pleasant to talk to. She kindly gave us tips on our travel and provided us with some of the good restaurants in the area. It was a huge plus for our trip!
