Ive been coming here for over 8 years. It was great when Larry use to be the owner. Since, its changed a couple times. We came about 3 years ago and the service was horrible. We tried to give it another shot and the first 2 times in the past month were great. Today we went with my dad, mom, and Grandma. They took my mom and grandmas plate to another table that came after us. When I went to the front to inquire about the plate they apologized and said it would be right out. About 20 mins later after watching them bring other tables food out and only 2 of our plates, I went back up. They told me they couldn't interfere with what the kitchen had going on. Even though it was their error you'd think they would have tried to get our plate out first. I work in customer service in the food industry and if we make an error we have to make the moment right first. I almost just wanted to ask for a refund so I decided to stand at the register till it was ready. Won't be returning here again.

Pit stop is alright , I don’t like that they give you plastic throw away silverware for dining in. But other wise it’s pretty god, it’s your basic diner but you do order at a counter and wait for your order if that’s your vibe .

BEST BURGERS EVER!! Juicy and flavorful!! I can here one day years ago and have been back multiple times every since!! One of the best burgers ever! The staff is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is pretty cool looks like a gas station garage.. definitely somewhere you can take some nice pictures of for your social media lol 🤣

Since we moved from Orange County to San Diego County this was one of our first places to visit is about 3 mi from our house our last trip was a couple of days ago we tried different things on their menu and everything is really great service is outstanding love the manager was very professional and we always have a good experience the only thing that I am surprised about is that they don't offer military discount we have a military family in a military town and maybe that will change in the future this time we order up pastrami sandwich hamburger one of the sides was fried mushrooms and french fries this is the combo meal

Fun and friendly. Car culture diner ambiance. Tasty burgers. Huge portions. Joined friends recently when the Kings of La Jolla live band was performing. #kingsoflajollaband. Now I'm a regular. They play 50s 60s 70s hits. Lots of people dancing. Performances 2x monthly @ Pit Stop, 1st & 3rd Saturdays 6-8 pm

Went the Pitstop and had a Jimbo’s Cheeseburger and a Pitstop burger. The restaurant was clean, the staff was super friendly, and the burgers were excellent. Went there on a last minute decision, and was really happy that we did. The old diner atmosphere is great for anyone interested in the old car days. Besides the food, the staff was so cool! Highly recommended!!!
Amazing food, service and a very unique and family friendly atmosphere. The food was fresh and delicious with crispy fries, and with friendly staff, will recommend this place if you're ever close by!
