We had the Pacific Rockefeller Oysters, Catch of the day, Fried Chicken Sandwich, and French Beignets. The Pacific Rockefeller Oysters were the best part of the meal. The Catch of the day had Cajun Seasoning and was delisch. Our server Trevor was attentive to our needs and offered good recommendations as this was our first time here. I definitely recommend coming here if it’s for food or just for drinks.

The food was fantastic! We were told they just got a new menu. Literally every item we got was delicious. The Gulf oysters charbroiled, yum! The steak au poivre, the Paparadelle pasta - we got shrimp on top and even those had the best seasoning on them and cooked to perfection. And do t get me started on the Mac and cheese- I don't even eat that normally but I tried it because it came with the steak and it was the yummiest!!!

The seasoning on everything was perfect. The only downside is we were there when there was a street party in the alley next to the restaurant which was ridiculously loud. We're not from Oceanside , so I don't know how often that goes on.

The mimosas were very standard. Didn’t taste like fresh or homemade juice but wish it had been. I tried the Cajun spice oysters and I’ve had much better. I expected a lot more for a place that had so many oyster options. It tasted overcooked and the seasoning wasn’t good. My friends tried the ceviche version of raw oysters and those were much better. They were too spicy for me and mostly just ceviche but they were good. I also got raw pacific oysters and they were just fine taste wise but nothing to write home about. All in all, I’d go somewhere else with higher ratings next time.

Experience was awesome. Definitely an amazing birthday dinner. Only complaint was I wish I would have known they were having DJ battle that night because it was exceptionally loud. Other than that I will be a returnimg customer

I live right up the street and this is my first time visiting this restaurant. Needless to say we had an amazing time. We got two different types of oysters. They were both amazing. The steak is one of the best I've had in a long time and the pasta was so rich and delicious! Highly recommend we will be back again! Also, the cocktails were delicious!

My family and I were so excited to try this place while on vacation. When we showed up, there wasn't a single employee anywhere. There was people eating and a few locals at the bar. One of the locals yelled "sit anywhere they will help you in a bit". We had 5 people and a toddler. The only table big enough for us had a single laptop and beach towel on it. The vibe was weird, no music, no employee, no bartender. It was extremely creepy. We stood there kinda confused and the local at the bar said "you belong up stairs".
We proceeded to go up stairs to the rooftop bar. Had a drink, and left. The rooftop bar was fun. We drank for an hour and when we left, there was still no employees in the rooftop bar.
After we proceeded to go to another Japanese oyster bar, and spent hundreds of dollars on great meals. The owner of this Q&A missed out on a bunch of money from us. If you have a business, you must have employees...

The bar is cool, but the rest needs work. We started with gumbo, which wasn't bad.... it just wasn't gumbo. If you can't make a roux correctly, you should just call it soup. The drinks were not great either. We sent one back because it was too acidic. The replacement arrived in 15 seconds and tasted very much like a premixed cocktail.

Some minor changes and this place could be a lot better.

We came on Thursday to try some oysters we ordered the Atlantic and Pacific. I can't remember which the biggest size was I believe the Atlantic (it was on our right hand side) but, the taste was really off with them. The first one we had we were like maybe we did something wrong, went for the second one and it was amazing. We continued between the two but, still found the bigger sized ones had something off with them. The last one from the bigger sized oysters (Atlantic I believe) had a foul smell but, again I thought it was just us...I was wrong. It was the worst oysters I've ever eaten and I've had oysters all over the place. We did bring it up to the staff and their oyster expert came out. He invalidated our feedback, playing it off like nothing was wrong with it as he took the shell away. We smelled every single shell and the last one I ate definitely had the worst smell of them all. We did say the smaller oysters were really good and since it was our last oyster, we didn't think we should even say anything because we still ate all 12. It's 2 days after the fact but, we've been feeling sick, stomach aches and puking.

Me and my wife made the mistake of making a reservation here for Friday night. We were very excited to have a night. The host met us at the front door, asked we had a reservation and sat us immediately . A male server asked for drinks right away. We responded with “we’ll take a water while we decide on drinks “. This clearly annoyed the server and the rest of the experience was downhill. When the server came back with waters he didn’t stop for drink order, he walked away like he was in a hurry. Very confusing since we were the only table in there besides 3 people at the bar and two employees at the end of the bar taking shots from the female bartender. At one point the employees took a group shot. Seriously who is in charge of this place. When the server finally came back to us we placed our order . Our drinks came out and were good. The food came out at separate times. The food was mediocre. The catfish was okay, Brussels sprouts were good, jerk chicken was terrible. The server got more and more rude as time went on. When he asked us about more drinks it was in a very rude tone and he cut my wife off while trying to answer him. At this point we wanted out of this establishment. When we asked to cash out the server placed the machine down for us to pay and we tipped 20% which is the lowest we give anyone. Both my wife and me have had carriers in hospitality at one point in life. This place was extremely unprofessional and I don’t have to pay money to be treated rudely. I will continue to visit Oceanside but keep my money at the other get establishments just steps away from this place.
