After driving by for a year I finally peeked my head in and checked it out, it wasn't what I expected at all..... it's a really cool place, seems like a great hang and very cool music, and a good upscale but subtle bar. Trendy, but not trendy. The focus seems on atmosphere, good vibes and mostly.... 🎶 Music

Amazing repurposed retro furniture store turned classy bar. Went Saturday night and they had a DJ playing great music, the Tago Mago drink is amazing. A great spot to relax and chat.

Fun place and funky vibe! Reminded me of SF but the music isn’t so loud and you can relax on comfy coaches. The drinks are great! Even the mocktail! :) I had the mocktail called the “wild night.” Yum ?!! We didn’t try the food but it looks delicious!!

I first discovered Sound by the Sea about two weeks after they opened last summer. I was so blown away by the atmosphere and the hospitality of this establishment it has become one of my frequent spots, and I don't even live in the North County/Oceanside area. It is a must go! When you are there, it feels like you are surrounded by family.
It has been incredible getting to see Sound's growth over the past year and the joy on peoples faces as they experience delicious cocktails/mocktails, tasty appetizers, and groovy tunes of all genres. It is the perfect place to go and unwind by yourself or with groups to have a soundtrack layered over a night out with loved ones.
I quite literally have nothing bad to say about SBTS other than the fact that I don't live closer. You won't be disappointed.

Sound By The Sea is a super cool vinyl listening bar! The staff is super friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable about all kinds of rad music. They book eclectic vinyl selectors that create a warm, inviting, and unique atmosphere. The sound system is also amazing! Great place to hang, have conversation, listen to music, and meet interesting people. Excellent selection of food and drinks too. I love going to this place and will return soon!

Incredible sound system, the owners really know their music and have created the perfect setting and atmosphere. Cool bar and great food options. You can watch folks spin vinyl all night and the service is fantastic. We had various snacks that were ideal, defo recommend swinging by for a unique experience in O-side!
