Still holding out hope that they will reopen one day -- at same location or a new location -- there is a go fund me page (just search for "sushi n joy"). There was a kitchen fire in August and Steve was badly burned. The sushi was among the best in all of San Diego County and hands down the best value. I wish Steve and his wife and staff the best, no matter what they do and wish them well during these hard times :)

Closed?!?! I've been visiting Steve and the ever changing crew since the early 2000's. Very very sad. I hope they regroup after the Covid issues subside.

Absolutely heart broken to hear they're gone. My husband and I loved this place, it was our go-to. So much so, we had our engagement celebration here, and every anniversary. I'll never forget it. I really wish them the best.

The owner was so drunk he embarrassed our entire table. It was a complete disaster as his daughter and wife looked on and said nothing about his behavior.

I came here a few times before covid. I used to walk past this place quite frequently while shopping at Trader Joe's. We went to dine in as a group and the owner was completely wasted upon our arrival. It was a horrible experience because he berated our table and it was my friends birthday. His wife and daughter stood by and said absolutely nothing. It was a horrible experience to say the least. I won't be dining here again.
