The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill - Oceanside, CA

I really wanted to like this new spot, but from the start we were skeptical. The busboy had a dirty bin on top of the counter where the to go orders are kept, he was scraping all the food from the dirty plates left by customers from the counter into his dirty bin he had all the dirty plates on the counter where the food is placed for pick up. We went for the first time on 11-11-25. No one was in line, it was just us, the cashier left the register to clear a table of plates, told us to wait a minute, then 2 DoorDash drivers came in and she helped them before us. We finally were able to order, we had a chicken Kabob and a Steak kabob, asked for medium well. It took almost 25 minutes to get iur food. The Steak was rare and no flavor at all. They made another fairly fast and this time it had more flavor but very dry. The rice was a little bland, not enough flavor. The tzatziki sauce did look right, I did taste it and it was horrible, like mayo with oil. Never have I ever had a tzatziki sauce like that. The garlic sauce was bad, like water with a hint of garlic. Hopefully things will get better as they are new and may improve but we will not be going back. Below is the Tzatziki sauce.

The food was Delish.
I always get the Gyro from here and it is the best. The meat is so fresh and flavorful, and the pita is so good, then the tzatziki sauce is so bomb, it just puts everything over the top.
The service was great. And The Owner was super kind and friendly. Ty!👍🏽

I tried this place with my mother and we loved it!! The food is amazing and fresh, and the portions are great! We love coming by after swimming lessons! I highly recommend this place 🤍🤍

Sam is the owner and his has welcoming employees. I had a Gyro and their lemon potatoes. The food was good. Just wished it was hotter in temperature. I plan on going again.
