The food was even better than we hoped. They are very conscious about giving back more than they take. They use ingredients from their garden right outside the restaurant. Great server! We are in town for a week and will probably come back

Love this place and anytime I have some extra time and cash, this is where I am with my snake. They are extremely pet friendly and love animals. Just ask in advance and I'm sure they'll love to host you and your furry, scale or human friends.

Wow! Impressive restaurant, friendly staff, & personable & grateful owners! Amazing green organic gardens, dog friendly patio, cute merch, modern interior. This food was delicious & unique, all vegan! The heartwarming smell of the outdoor briquette smoker reminded me of summer! Check this place out!! Updated from previous review on 2025-02-21

On our way down to San Diego from Long Beach, we stopped here for dinner in Oceanside. The parking lot is a little confusing because there are a few standalone buildings with driveways between and it was difficult to determine which driveway belonged to which building, especially in the dark. We ended up parking on the street, and there was plenty of parking available. It's a cute place and only half of the restaurant appeared to be used for dining, and it was pretty full when we arrived. The menu is quite interesting with a variety of different types of foods. We opted for the taters + kraut from the regular menu, and the Okinawan sweet potato gnocchi from the specials. There are also a variety of different beverages and my friend tried one of the homemade juice concoctions, which was very tasty and refreshing. Before our order arrived, an amuse bouche from the kitchen was brought out. I missed the description of exactly what we were eating, but it was interesting! The flavors didn't seem to go well together at first, but as they mixed, a different flavor emerged. It's difficult to describe, but it ended up to be quite a tantalizing bite. The taters + kraut was okay. I think the proportion of potato to sauerkraut was a bit lopsided and it would have been nicer had the potatoes been cut into smaller pieces. I probably would not order this again. The gnocchi, on the other hand, was spectacular. The gnocchi itself was soft and pillowy, but the star in the dish was the kale. The onion jam brought some sweetness and it paired excellently with the slight char on the kale. I would definitely order this one again. No dessert as we had to get back on the road, but if ever in the area again, I would definitely stop by and try other dishes on the menu. Updated from previous review on 2025-02-11

My wife and I just tried them for the first time. We had the spam kimchi, and I had the sausage and biscuit. It was all made from scratch. I really dug it, but my wife thought the kimchi was salty. (I must admit that she is somewhat finicky). My sister in law works in Carlsbad and I told her if she needs something she forgot to take to work to give me a call and I can drive it up to her, from San Diego, so I can stop by here for brunch. This place was pretty amazing with a cool concept, many of their ingredients come from the garden around and behind the restaurant. The food was delicious and creative. I've never had ketchup made from beets! The decor was relaxing and homey. My only problem is that parking is difficult is limited, and you have to use the alley to access it. The fries were amazing! I wish the "cheese sauce" on top was called "gravy", and they can just call it "poutine"! As cheese sauce, it want good. As gravy, it tasted much better! It also gives you the chance to add more seasoning to the gravy. Lean into it chef! I would go here regularly if I came to Oceanside more often.

The menu is small but everything was so beautiful and delicious! They grow plants in the back that they use on the dishes. I saw the plant that the leaves on my food came from, such a cool concept! And the space has an impecable design. The staff was so sweet and brought both my pups their own bowls of water. I’m GF and they answered all my questions. There’s a separate frier for GF stuff.

The food was good, but it took up to 45 minutes for us to receive our dishes. My girlfriend and I joked that they must be growing the food before cooking it. The service was slow, and it seemed like we were seated outside our server's section. Our server eventually realized how long our food had taken and brought us soup as a gesture. This left me thinking there might be something wrong with the restaurant, as they kept giving us items we didn't order. For instance, when we were seated, the chef sent us an Amuse-Bouche. Don't get me wrong, the food was good. However, considering how far away The Plot is from us and the poor service we experienced, I don't think we will be returning.

Ruby was so knowledgeable and excited about the food that I thought we were talking to the restaurant's owner rather than a server. We went there for the first time on my mom's birthday, they were totally on point with customer service and Ruby made sure that my mom had an exceptional dining experience.

This was our first time at The Plot. My daughter is vegetarian, so she was excited to go to a 100% plant based restaurant. We had a really great meal and our server was helpful and attentive. Wish it wasn't so far north!

Our favorite restaurant! The food is fantastic, using many ingredients from its own gardens on the property! Great service. It’s vegan gourmet dining at its best ?

The food was amazing, the ambience was phenomenal. Both my friend and I loved it a lot, my only complain is that the “drinks” are soju non-Alcoholic. I gave a 5 star still because I guess at a vegetarian/vegan restaurant it might be expected ??‍♀️. Overall we had a great time and I would definitely recommend and will definitely be back.

We are not vegan yet we really enjoy going to The Plot. Their dishes are extremely creative using fresh ingredients. The accompaniments to the main food are well thought out and taste spectacular. Service is always top notch and the servers answer questions expertly. The cocktails were excellent as well. The Plot isn't trying to disguise vegan food and pass it off as a knock off of meat based dishes. They are creative and unique with their culinary endeavors.

We sat outside amongst the vegetable garden on a beautiful summer day. The service and food were both spot on. My daughter asked our waiter for his preferences on selections, and he was very helpful and knowledgeable.
