We ordered the zlt, breakfast burrito, save the tuna sandwich and pesto toast. For drinks we had the rasta palmer, berry lemonade, seasonal refresher which was a lavender tea and matcha mint tea. Everything looked and tasted delicious. For the sides, I would add more popcorn, more greens or fruit for more food. I would definitely eat here again.

This is a nice healthy version of a hobo tea house. Reasonably priced and quite refreshing and wholesome

Love this cafe. Think Organic, Healthy, Natural food & products. This little oasis on West Ojai Ave is a perfect stop to charge your car, fix your bike, give your kids play time. Food is excellent and we had the complimentary blue water which tastes like water but has health benefits. Come eat breakfast or lunch here, you won't regret it.

Had a coffee here. It was great, could tell it was very natural ingredients. Nice place to chill while you charge!
Lovely cafe with a very friendly crew. Highly recommended for their smoothies! Will make sure to visit on our next trip.

Hip Vegan is a better vegan place. You just get more food and more choices out of Hip Vegan.

Original Post (12/28/23): I went there in the fall. A friend drove me from Santa Barbara to Ojai specifically to go to Cafe Boku to try their vegan Reuben sandwiches. I really like vegan Reubens and was hoping to try theirs. We arrived a few minutes after 3 - and although their web site stated that they were open until 5, the cashier told us that the kitchen closed at 3! We had to go to Hip instead, which I really did not want to do. They will get a chance to redeem themselves today, as I am once again going to try to eat at the restaurant. However, this time I called ahead - and although the message on their answering system stated that they were open until 5 - I chose to speak directly to someone there, and once again was told that they will close at 3. This time we will get there before 3, and I hope to be able to update this review with a more favorable.one. UPDATE (1/8/24): We returned on Thursday, 12/28/23. I was hoping to be able to state that their phone message and web site reflected their current hours. However, as of last night the phone message still claims that they are open until 5 - which is incorrect, the sign in their door shows a closing time of 3 for all open days. The web site shows 3 for most days, and 4 for a few. I would strongly suggest calling and talking to a person before going. This time we got to try their food. We both ordered the mushroom Reuben. It was a very good mushroom sandwich, but did not taste very much like a Reuben. My friend and I also both wished that the sandwiches had more filling (mushrooms and sauerkraut). The bread was sour dough - not pumpernickel - but it was a very good sourdough. I would order it again, but I would like to try other items on their menu. Unfortunately, the items that I am most interested in trying (the flat bread and the soup) are currently not available. The service was excellent - and we were even comped a part of our to go order to help make up for the disastrous first visit. We were also told that they are now completely vegan - so I can give them more than 3 stars. Updated from previous review on 2024-01-08
A gem of a cafe ; right at a Tesla supercharger. They have a vast menu full of superfoods, matcha , coffee and protein smoothies. I fell in love with their pink moment smoothie! Best spot for your gut ! The aesthetic is very green and lovely. Will visit again !

I have food allergies. Vegan places scare me a little, because of corn and soy. In the past, I would have to pass on vegan places because of tofu. Tofu is made from Soy. Lots of Vegan places use Tofu. I imagine this place did too.I telephoned ahead of our visit to ask some questions. I spoke with Leah. She went above and beyond to explain to me how things were made and what to stay away from. She was very helpful and friendly. She put my mind at ease. We were very excited to be trying Boku.My friend and I were in Ojai and really wanted to try Boku because we'd heard such wonderful things. They have some of the best plant protein and supplements brand out there. Locally sourced, and healthy. Very pricey though. Although the cafe's prices are better in-house than online, you save on shipping.I got the non-Tuna Sandwich. It was made with their products and artichokes, purple onions, tomatoes, and turkey bacon. I had Lavender Lemonade and their Blue Water. (I wish I could have bought some of the Blue Water). My friend had a Mushroom Burger. She loved it. I loved mine. The atmosphere was quirky and eclectic. They had swings outside, but there were signs saying not to swing. Lots of free parking. Clean restrooms.

I would like to say that it’s good Café but , if you want to come to grab coffee last minute, the personal stuff will not make it for you if you come at 4-50pm . (They works until 5pm)The lady in the desk told me “you are too late” , and they closed the coffee . So disrespectful, rude .I told her that you are working until 5pm , why you closed all the coffee machines, she didn’t find a word to answer. Not professional stuff, lazy and rude .
