Came here for an early dinner as part of a girls day out last minute. A hidden gem! The food and drinks were great, service was also great, but that might be because we were the only ones in the whole restaurant. I hope they can drum up more business, especially on a Saturday night. The interior ambience and decor needs a refresh and the hostess podium outside needs to be manned. The menu needs an update as well, this place has a lot of potential just needs to be marketed better. We would come again next time we're in town.

Had the peach salad, it was amazing. Brisket patty was bland but decent. Good place though.

This restaurant is a fun little place next to Libby Park. Just don't order the brisket melt.
My husband and I love this place. The food is lovingly healthful and consistently delicious. We can take our dog and sit on the patio. It really is a gem!

Service is extremely sloooooow. Sat at one of the tables and 20 minutes had gone by, and no one had addressed us. Extemely disappointed. We just left.

I'm an extremely avid traveler and have had my fair share of good, bad, and ugly dining experiences. This was the absolute worst I've had, followed by Tres Hermanas just down the street.
The server who took our order at the counter didn't even have his iPad plugged in, so it died while my partner was trying to pay. The $16 Bloody Maria was borderline undrinkable and I wouldn't be surprised if they forgot to put any booze in it.
But the service was the worst part. You don't get a number or anything after you order and seat yourself, so the servers seemingly rely on their (poor) memory to figure out when to bring your food. As for drinks and even cutlery, you'll have to remind them, probably several times, to bring it and simply hope they remember to. And if you dare to let your server know they might have made a mistake, as a couple of diners sitting near us did, the manager might come out and sternly lecture you about how you were actually mistaken about what you had ordered.
Do not waste your time or money. Unfortunately this seems to be a feature, not a bug, of dining in downtown Ojai.

Quite possibly the worst service in my life but they were understaffed. Still bad though. Missed the order. Food took a long time. Asked to “wait” and complete my order. Felt ignored. Food was decent hence 2 stars.

Tried this place for the first time yesterday for lunch. The restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived, and they had 3 servers working.
We were served by a friendly curly haired young man. We ordered an iced tea, black coffee, salmon tacos (good) grilled veggie sandwich (ok) and the butternut squash soup (good).
The server brought our water and food fairly quickly, but no coffee or tea. I followed up on the coffee and tea three times (with two separate servers) before we finally received the coffee. I again followed up on the iced tea and was told it's coming.
Having still not received our iced tea, I saw and heard our server tell another server it was slow and he was leaving for the day.. did not hand us off to another server, just left.
We were nearly done with our meal when I noticed an ice tea sitting on the expo counter (the remaining two servers were folding napkins and standing at the front counter seemingly oblivious). Shortly after another guest sat down next to us (the serve folding napkins told him to sit himself) and ordered an iced tea (the server folding napkins came to take his order).
One of the servers I had originally flagged down to follow up on my iced tea (the one folding napkins) took the iced tea from the counter (which was there before new guest arrived) and I assumed was on his way to my table when he past us and took the tea to the guest who just arrived.
As he was walked back past our table, I asked if he was sure that wasn't my tea. He stared at me blankly and said "did you order an iced tea?" (!?!) I said yes... 30 min ago.. and have followed up on it three times including with you (!?). He said well do you still want an iced tea? At this point we were fully done with our meal, so I said no. Just take it off the check please. We paid and left. No apology.
All of that is to say, the service here is awful. And based on the other reviews, forgetting to bring drinks is a trend here. The food is pretty good, and the patio is cute, but I will not be eating here again. If you do, I recommend you order to go and stick with food only.
Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options. Limited vegan options but they do have a few decent ones.

I hate to put out a bad review, weve been living in ojai for 20 years, and never been. Mother's Day we decided to go..my daughter wanted to treat me..how sweet. We were seated, just beautiful. So we thought okay all is good, and my daughter was happy. We were happy, until we weren't. So the waiter was very nice..but it took along time to get our food. My daughter had the lemonade, and i the arnold palmer..both were grose..taste like sour water. The appitizer came out, didn't like it.
I ordered the lamb burger- the combination was nasty. All the flavors didnt mesh well.
My daughter ordered the fried chicken sandwich- she thought it was ok..she didnt finish it.
My son the brisket melt- he said it was disgusting it taste sour and grose. He didn't finish it.
The ranch was sour and tasted funny.
The only thing that was edible were the fries, but even those were saturated with lots if oil.
$94 later we left a bit disappointed. The owner Anne was very sweet and very kind..all though we wont be back. I hope that if you try, u have a better experience. The place itself was beautiful..ps the water wasnt good either. But again the owner was sooooo nice, thank u for a beautiful ambience though..

It would have been a good experience except for the fact that the food made me absolutely sick!?
Food tasting good and fresh, super friendly service, has parking lot on the front which makes it easy.

Terrible, slow, inattentive service. No effort to seat us properly. Also, I don’t know why a server would ask a table if they were ready to order (after close to 15 mins of sitting there), and then say, “ok I’ll be back.” Keep your notepad in your pocket to keep things moving. I witnessed other tables repeatedly ask for their table to be cleaned, for salt and pepper, for silverware. Food was super basic and flavorless. I had some sort of piece of blue trash in my water glass. Definitely not worth the $65 for soup/salad, grain bowl, and kids meal.
