We came for brunch after a long hike on the Ojai trails! This place is a vibe, great energy from guests and staff! We chatted with the guests at the next table!
The staff were all great, especially our waiter Adrian, who was attentive and sweet and brought water for my dog Duchess! My friend had the chicken and waffles and I had the chicken sando! Both were spectacular!! I even loved the spicy sauce they brought and I don't normally eat spicy foods!! The freshly squeezed orange juice was fabulous. We each took a morning bun home so I could have it later with my cappuccino at home!! They are amazing, try one, thank me later!!!
All in all, 10 out of 10 for everyone we spoke to! Highly recommend and will certainly be back after more Ojai hikes!! Thank you everyone! 🙌🏾✨🐕

Dishes that will not disappoint with a vibe to match. The date muffin was the star, but we didn’t have a bad bite; and hardly a crumb was spared.

This is a complicated review. Despite the food being good and the sourdough being excellent, the general layout of this place and the service that results is rather abysmal. Not only is it insanely overpriced – a matcha upwards of $13, the same as the sourdough – there is always a 30 minute line. Whether you’re a local or not, or pre-ordered, or are just grabbing a loaf of bread, it’s a 30 minute wait. This place desperately needs an operational overhaul. Just an easier way to order not from the menu, but some of the baked goods, Grab and go, or just some better system than their ridiculously heavy traffic poorly situated constantly time-
consuming and poorly executed current layout. We love the restaurant, and the owners are kind and sweet, but they really need this review so that they look at what’s what because it’s going to start affecting their business.

Great food, wonderful ambience and really nice service! The naan is really good and the chickpea fritters and potatoes are a must have!
Wow. I haven’t had this good of food in a long time. I didn’t order anything special–breakfast plate. It was absolutely delicious. I can’t get over it. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. Great staff. I highly recommend everyone trying out this spot. Love. Love. Love.

I found this gem with a Grok search and was happily satisfied. The service was friendly on the 5 star level, timely, gracious, welcoming and adding that smiling touch. Breakfast was unique and tasty, which I was looking for. The seating wasn't in the cozy booth setting, but more conducive to interacting with new friends. Coffee had so many options that it was simple to please whatever your cravings are. Mine was coffee with homemade garam masala syrup. A unique satisfying experience well worth checking out.

Charged $1.50 extra for whipped cream on a hot chocolate and got a teaspoon of whipped cream. Food is good but prices are high.
Went for dine-in, ended up waiting over 30 minutes for food just to walk out. The devil-may-care attitude from the staff reflected on the drinks, with coffee already spilled when they serve you. After spending almost an hour at this location from arrival, the only thing I managed to get was a table and 2 cups of half-spilled coffee.

We had a lovely time at The Dutchess. The food had some hit and misses. The coconut chicken noodle soup was delicious but the noodles could be chewier, a bit overcooked. The biriyani was delicious in flavoring but would do better with big chunks of lamb verses the minced meat. The rockfish flavor was not as spiced as expected but cooked perfectly. The chicken tikka was very delish and no notes! Great staff, very cool ambience. Worth trying.

Came for lunch and dinner. All the food was delicious, no wait when we went both times (it was a Monday for us though). Highly recommend the congee in the morning and the passion lime pie for dessert!
