Its crazy how some folks leave a 1 star review for non-sense(like pricing or not enough salt, etc.). Its like they want the biz to close down because they cant do math? Went in for the chicken and waffles and a side of corn bread. Food was fresh and tasty. Hard to find a good chicken and waffle place in IE. this is by far worth trying. Corn bread was fresh out of the oven and delicious. Friendly staff

I had to see what the rave was all about. This was my first time so I really didn't know what to expect. We arrived when it opened because I heard that space was limited. It was. Maybe 15 seats. Very small eating area. I really don't think it's meant to dine in. It's definitely not wheelchair or ADA compliant. The service was good, man was very friendly. I was a little surprised at the limited soul food side options. No yams on the menu, but you make them for catering ?. Since they are known for chicken & waffles, that's what I ordered. I was a little disappointed that the chicken was tender strips instead of wings, but I wasn't too surprised. Price point was moderate. The waffle was a nice size, but mine was overcooked. ? When I went to cut it, it cracked in half ?. The tenders weren't seasoned, but they were juicy. ?? The kool-aid option was pretty nostalgic ?. Others in my party ordered the ox tails, fried fish, and party wings. With all that fried food, I'm trying to figure out why we couldn't smell anything??? IDK, maybe the ventilation sustem is just that good. ??♀️ Overall, I support black owned businesses; and the fact it's D9 is a bonus, I know that they'll be successful, but I can't think of a reason why I would go back. #oneanddone

Definitely would not recommend the customer service was amazing, but unfortunately I can’t say the same thing for the food everything was so bland and for $27 I only got 1 piece of fish and it came with one side and I brought the additional side, wish them the best in the future I will not be a returning customer.

Took my daughter out for lunch spent $72. Red snapper, smothered pork chops greens red beans and Mac n cheese. I'm all about seasoning, but the salt was extreme! I could see the seasoning salt just piled on the onions onto the pork chops. Greens very salty. Red beans and rice not to my liking but the husband enjoyed. My daughter and I were like it's ok but not for the price. Then we got to the banana pudding. The pudding was chunky and sour. ? we really had high hopes unfortunately we won't be back.
