Style over substance!
For a place that charges as much as it does, I was expecting something good, so I ordered my favorite breakfast: steak and eggs. What I got was something I'd never had before, tough hashbrowns (honestly tough, not chewy or even just overdone) with clumps of black pepper and salt, eggs that were edible but unexceptional, and a cut of meat that wasn't porterhouse as advertised.
I asked about the potatoes, and got deep fried potato wedges that were completely unseasoned but at least were edible. The server was apologetic and friendly, but that meal was inexcusable.

Great for a breakfast until 1pm. French toast was delicious, hot coffee ☕ and the eggs are tasty. Free news paper
I was planning on eating at the steakhouse (Porters) but it was closed. Since I had an early flight the next morning I decided to try this place for a quick burger and fries. I waited over 30 minutes for my food and it was not even worth the wait, let alone the $20 I spent. The food was not hot or fresh. It looked and tasted like it had been made for days and then reheated in a microwave. My server never came back to see if everything was ok or if I needed a drink refill. I am surprised that Doubletree would have a place like this in their hotel.
While waiting for a flight from ONT International. I decided to stop and enjoy a real breakfast. I’m on Atkins and don’t love meat. I was happy to find this thick veggie omelette. As Atkins doesn’t allow for the standard breakfast potatoes and toast, the server was gracious enough to bring me a lovely salad. The veggie omelette was thick with green and red peppers, onion and mushroom. It was light on the cheese which I appreciate. The salad was fresh mixed field greens, tomato, shredded cheese and a wonderful ranch dressing. The kitchen staff was savvy enough not to put on the croutons. This was a great stick-to-your-ribs breakfast. Service was prompt and I noticed pilots in uniform enjoying breakfast as well.
