Whenever I come to visit my family in the area, Get Sum Dim Sum is where I come for amazing food. The flavors and textures are incredible. My favorite savory dish is the shrimp and leek dumplings and for dessert, the lava buns. If you want to find comfort food in Southern California, this is where you should go. Since I live far away, I do not get to eat here as often as I would like so I’ll have to live vicariously through you. Enjoy!

Food is good, little different from what I'm used too. Monterey Park is still the OG.

Had the shrimp pork noodle soup. VERY unsatisfying, absolutely no flavor. Broth was very tasteless, mostly water, needs at the very least salt and pepper. The wontons too were tasteless and had an unusual texture to them. There were 2 pcs of chinese kale in it, needs a couple more. Noodles were very thin, and skimpy on quantity. I can get a bowl of pho for same price that is much more satisfying. Place was clean, good service. Please, have the cooks add some spices.

Probably the best dim sum in the area. It's like a modern downsized version of a traditional dimsum restaurant. It's recommended for those new to dimsum or if you don't want drive all the way to the SG Valley. They give you a picture menu and you check off your order on a paper list that's all in English. The menu is pared down from a traditional dimsum menu but most of the favorites are available. We ordered about half a dozen items. Shanghai dumplings (xiao long bao) were tasty and juicy but the skin was just a little on the rubbery side. The jiao zhi, called just sticky rice (?) were a little different from my family recipe but good with many ingredients. Excellent Chinese broccoli (called kale on the menu??). The main disappointment were the fried dumplings (pot stickers), they were on the soft side and lacked flavor. Excellent staff and service. It's a small place with limited seating. I would definitely return.

The rice rolls are very authentic, highly recommended!
The glutinous rice chicken dumplings are full of flavor, the xiaolongbao is more like frozen food, and the shiitake mushroom siomai is fatter and lacks the mushroom flavor.

Five plates. 40 bucks. Didn’t even give free tea for an order over $30. Overpriced to hell

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Get Sum Dim Sum, and it was an incredible experience. Here's a rundown of what we ordered and our impressions:

- **#39 Shrimp/Pork Wonton in Chili Oil**: This dish was a delightful take on Szechuan cuisine. The wontons were perfectly cooked, and the chili oil provided a mild heat that wasn’t too overwhelming, making it accessible for those who prefer a tamer spice level.

- **#2 Siu Mai**: The Siu Mai here is consistently fantastic. Each dumpling was large, flavorful, and delicious. This is a must-order item for me every time I have dim sum.

- **#15**: While this dish was good, I’ve had better versions elsewhere. Despite that, it remains one of my favorites and I would still recommend trying it.

- **#26 Porridge with Preserved Eggs**: This dish was outstanding. The porridge was silky and the preserved eggs added a wonderful depth of flavor. The small, thin pieces of chicken were a perfect addition, making this a top-tier choice.

Beyond the food, the ambiance was enhanced by the great music they played, creating a pleasant and enjoyable dining atmosphere. The staff were also very friendly and attentive, which added to the overall positive experience.

I highly recommend Get Sum Dim Sum for anyone looking for a delicious and enjoyable meal.
