I visited this restaurant on a weekday morning (6:40 AM) while in town for a 3-day conference at the Ontario Convention Center. There was only one server; their service was slow and they were not dressed professionally at all. Looked like a slovenly teenager in street clothes. This was a stark contrast to the rest of the staff I encountered in the hotel. I ordered steel-cut oatmeal for breakfast and it was just fine. Nothing spectacular but then again… it was oatmeal. The portion size was decent and I think the pricing was average. All in all, not the worst but not the best. For the convenience of not having to leave the hotel, I would eat here again.

Wow .. 20$ for the worst breakfast i've had. 8$ for two strips of bacon, and 6$ for a coffee. No egg on the plate because it was sent back for re-cooking.. and it came back .. well let's just say bad.

Nice buffet
What a handy place for attending an event at the convention center - free parking, great block pricing and decent internet. But the mold on the bathroom ceiling (2nd floor), the lack of an operable AC/heating unit, poorly stocked on towels (had to go get them) were unacceptable. It was fairly quiet. The night manager had quite a difficult time dividing our bill in 1/2.
This hotel started off as 2 stars but went down to -2 by the end of our 5 night stay. Reasons for the low rating are one room on our floor had a police meth lab crime sticker a door, pillows were 1/2 sized, towels were thin and warm, whole in bedding, throwup like substance in corner of door frame in hallway, upholstery in lobby was dirty, overpriced food, hair from other guests left in shower, no free coffee in lobby, was left with no towels in room one night, it just needs a good cleaning in the exterior.
What a disappointment. Poor communications, poor organization, marginal vendors, Ontario Gateway Hotel is a dump with poor service, meth lab in the room across from us....one big yuck and wont be back
No air conditioning in our room. The hallways seems to be colder than our room it self. Very unprofessional staff who seems to be overwhelmed by guest complaints. Also they have a mold sitution on the first floor rooms. Which can cause health issues to guest and employees. This place needs to be check by the city of Ontario code enforcement. Take the bussiness elsewhere....
My room never got cooler than 76. I was told to open the window and there was nothing else they could do but charge me full price for the room. Overall, the room and facilities were just old and in need of repair. Even the little things like shampoo and lotion were just watery versions of what a good hotel would offer. The personnel was pleasant and efficient, yet was unable to help everyone waiting in line and answering the phones at the same time. I very very much regret staying there.
Firstable it is under contraction whole ways not finished, whole ways to hot, outside in the parking lot dirty a lot of trash, bin full so trash was all over. I will never stay there again. Wifi was too hard to get it.

Nice buffet
Decided to give this place a try, there were better well known places available but what the hell. 1st impression is it needs some updating all the way around. Lobby was dark and uninviting, service was quick, staff seemed helpful. This place was probably one of the nicest back in the day. I would start with new carpets, paint and lighting. The room was large, furniture was outdated as well, it was clean and smelled good. Bed was comfortable, walking down the hall the smell of medical marijuana permeated the halls...Cant remember if it was a all non smoking property or not. My overall impression is its once was a grand place, spend the money, update everything and return to your former glory. Its directly across the street from the convention center so the location isnt the issue. But for a mid level price its not too bad. All is good except for the smoking. I will give them another try, maybe Ill request a non smoking floor.

myself and my bestfriend were there for my 50th high school reunion. When we tried to check in but were told they had no handicapped room, the girl at the desk kept saying sorry and there was nothing she could do.The manager said he had 1 handicapped room left, but the room had no heater which was no problem. my friend slept on the roll away bed which was a plus. the king size had no way to raise or lower the head of the bed. I have asthma which was hard for me, along with a bad back. I couldn't take a shower because the shower was not setup for a handicapped person. The dinner on Saturday which I should have had a medium rare steak, and my friend should have had a medium well, both were underdone also lots of grizzle, you couldn't cut it. I did eat my salad, the mashed potatoes, and the desert was great. my reunion was wonderful, but other issues need to be addressed.
I arrived at the hotel to be bluntly told that the room I booked weeks ago was not available. No apology, just said that they had two groups, and just didn’t have my room available, as if that made the fact that made it justifiable. My options were to cancel and work out the refund with the third party booker, or downgrade to a room that would not have worked (at the same price). When I asked what I was supposed to do they literally just stared at me. I ended up cancelling and booking a last minute room elsewhere. When I contacted the third party to refund my stay, they tried to follow up via phone (which I confirmed was what was on their website)for 40 minutes, because it was not working. I had to go BACK to the hotel to complete the cancellation since they were otherwise unreachable.
