I had not been to a rainforest Café probably since the one in downtown Disney close down. We live in Orange County, and had to conduct some business at the Ontario airport. Instead of driving back to OC in Friday traffic, we decided to go to Ontario Mills mall and grab a bite to eat. I had fond memories of the rainforest Café when I was a child and I thought that it would be a good experience for my five-year-old. I was able to make a reservation in the evening prior. When I checked the day up to modify the reservation, there were no times until 7 PM but when you came inside, most of the place was actually quite empty. It felt a little grimy and dated. The food was OK. If you look at it through the eyes of a five-year-old, it's a pretty cool experience with lights and dated animatronics moving every few minutes and a thunderstorm about once every 30 minutes. The food was subpar, but if you're gonna get a hamburger or something like that, it's fine. The asian inspired salad was absolutely terrible child ordered a pepperoni pizza and it seemed to be like more like a grilled flatbread with cheese and pepperoni on top of it. It was fine and she ate it but just a warning two kids who have issues with things that “look different.” Service was slow we had to ask multiple times for basic things like mustard and mayonnaise for burgers. Table felt sticky. Next time, I would probably do Dave & Buster's.
If it wasn't for the wow factor of a rainforest cafe I would say don't go, the service was mediocre, some staff attitudes were really poor and the food was quite honestly that of a frozen TV dinner. The young girl walking around making balloon animals for tips was the best service we got all night, the most personable and really went above and beyond for the kids.

We had reservations and they still made us wait in line . Half of the animal animation was broken . They really need to invest in repairing the place since there's only 2 in United States. We had a birthday girl and instead of ice cream they gave her a no favor cupcake with icing.

Very unfortunate visit recently for me and my husbands anniversary. There are no fish in the fish tank anymore which was disappointed but no fault to the staff obviously, but the service was extremely slow despite there being tons of staff and very few guests and most of the restaurant closed off, we didn't get our check until they were locking up the restaurant with bars

The server was really nice but it was just so busy and we could see she had a lot of tables and wasn't able to get to us. We sat without drinks and food for awhile and when the food came it wasn't complete. No ketchup for the fries, no dressing for my salad, etc. the balloon girl was an awesome addition to our experience though!
