My husband and I LOVE Black Market. We fall off our healthy food kick often. But, when we are ON we are ON. I love that we can order our bowls, specifically made to our faves. I love to order all of our bowls with salmon. Which is always SUPER tasty. Brian in the orange location always provides excellent service. We always come here for amazing service and food. I know several of my UCI docs come for the burgers and bowls after long surgeries. Their order ahead app is super convenient and easy!

I've been coming here most days for the last 3 years or so. I'm on a first name basis with most all the staff as well as the two owners. I can't recommend Blackmarket enough.Now, I don't typically do set meal prep. I'm the type of person who forgets it's in the fridge and then tries not to think about how much money I inevitably waste when it needs to be thrown out. I work in the area, so it's super convenient for me to just walk in, build a meal, eat at the bar top and go about my day. If you're looking for a good place to get real food that isn't just processed garbage without having to pay restaurant prices this is the best. Is it CHEAP? No. However you'll likely end up spending about the same at most fast food places nearby, and you don't have to deal with the fast food guilt and feeling like a slob for the next couple hours. Is it an earth shattering culinary experience? No. However I always look forward to the sweet potatoes, and the Chili Lime Tri-Tip is pretty damn solid. The area it's in can be a little bit hectic being next to the hospital, but if you avoid peak lunch hour rush there's usually a few parking spots right up front for you. On the topic of service, I haven't had a single negative experience with an employee here, ever. There's been a couple times where I've had a weird sweet potato or something and I pointed it out, and they swapped it right away. The staff has always been super friendly, I've seen a number of employees come and go, and the owners have done an excellent job training them, and allowing them to operate without micromanagement, but most of all, just picking great people. Anyhow, they're great. Try them out.

We had food poisoning at this location a few weeks back. The owners were extremely rude to us and accused us of lying.This morning another customer of theirs reached out to me via DM that he ALSO got food poisoning from this location. See below the screenshots. I'm willing to go out of my way and report this because the way the business owner treat customers who fell ill from their food is simply unacceptable. -----------------Update 2: I think the real issue here is you never cared about us getting food poisoning from your food, nor do you choose to believe it. This is what differentiate you from 99% other legit businesses and is what's truly irritating. You mentioned that if we had reached out to you first you would have given us a refund, it's extremely confusing bc:1. Margarita specifically told us "no refund" whatsoever, so what would have been the point of asking you for help? 2. Say you truly wanted to acknowledge responsibility and give us a refund like you claimed, isn't that what is happening right now?? You customers are getting what you were gonna offer anyways: We are getting our refund and it is because your food made us sick...Really confused at this point what you are arguing about... is it that you are blaming us why not asking for your help when you weren't gonna help, or is it that we did get a refund which is what you claimed you would have done anyways? What did we do wrong other than making a mistake in giving you guys a try?And like I said, I specifically wanted to spare you a bad review online, which is why I chose to file a chargeback privately through my bank. As a customer, that's the easiest way to protect ourselves The fact that you are all pissy about the outcome tells me that had we reached out to you in the first place, we would have been called a lier and denied a refund anyways... and your whole "if you reached out first we'll glad refund you" would never have happened. Let's be real.As to these public reviews now, it's all thanks to interacting with you both. We are paying customers who got sick from your food, and we received absolute no empathy, no professionalism, instead we were called fraudulent, and you were somehow "exposing" us. Smh, seriously?
