My sister bought a cookie to use the restroom and there was human feces all over the floor and hallway. The staff/management were not aware.
My sister accidentally stepped in it and the staff did not care, apologize, offer to refund the cookie, or give a bag to toss the shoes. They told us "Oh there's a trash can outside." We had to cut our day short and drive to the nearest Vans to buy new shoes.
I'm displeased at the poor customer service.

I tried this place for the first time today, and it did not disappoint. We walked in, and there was nobody there. Usually, that's not a good sign, but it seems we just beat the rush because within minutes, people started walking in. I ordered the chilaquiles with papas because I heard they were good. When they came out, I could immediately smell the red sauce. The chilaquiles were crispy and spicy, and were perfect with my over easy eggs. The red sauce is spicy and delicious. The potatoes were cooked perfectly. My wife ordered a more traditional breakfast, just eggs and bacon, but said it was good. As always, I judge mexican restaurants by their chips and salsa. They have the right chips, thick crunchy home made style. I ordered a side of beans to go with the chips. Unfortunately, we had just had coffee, so we didn't get to try coffee or michelada, but I saw they had the beer on tap. We'll definitely be back ready to try the coffee. I also previously tried their pastries, the concha and chocolate croissants are a must. The environment was nice, very casual. It looks like a good place to have a business meeting over lunch. I highly recommend this place. The prices are very reasonable.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to share the amazing experience my sister and I had here during the Vintage Crawl. My sister picked out this new to us place and let me tell you. I felt as if I was at my mom's kitchen table again. She has been gone for a long time now and with the holidays around the corner we miss our parents even more. All the food looked so delicious. We had the breakfast burrito with potatoes and salsa. I had messed up the order when I placed it and the owners were more than pleased to make sure the dish was perfect and had it remade. Thank you. I tried the salsa and OMG! I was like who stole my mom's recipe? It really moved me to taste such great salsa that brought back lovely memories to me and my taste buds. My mom would say you can taste the love in good food and it was there, L-O-V-E! So! You know if the salsa is great, the food, the pastries and drinks are going to be a hit. I loved the decor and it felt cozy and welcoming. That is rare to feel at home at a table in a restaurant. I encourage everyone to try something there. I don't live in Orange but I will take the time to go there to enjoy a great breakfast burrito and the salsa with potatoes. Mmmmm! Chef's kiss! Thank you. Wonderful owners and great staff.
Dietary restrictions: It was easy to ask for no cheese to be added.

Went to Café Zócalo over the weekend and loved it. The décor was awesome, with a cool ofrenda proudly celebrating Mexican culture. The food was excellent—my wife had the chilaquiles, and they were fantastic. They also have a bakery section with lots of traditional Mexican baked goods. I grabbed a few to take home.. They didn't make it to the next day!

Were there for breakfast
My friend's order had been forgotten, but we pointed it out to the waitress and she took care of it straight away and then breakfast came right away :) which wasn't bad at all :) and we got two cookies as an apology
I had the mini pancakes which were very tasty.
We were thrilled with the taste and the service.

I've been going to Zocalo since it was Blue Frog Cafe. Mariana, the new owner, is a city local and extremely passionate about caring for this Family Run business!
I can tell you right now the food is FANTASTIC and I can't pick one favorite (the Pot Roast sandwich is giving the rest a run for its money),the chai latte super delicious, and their potato salad is OUT OF THIS WORLD (and if you love potato salad you know how bland it can be).
Sides aren't an afterthought here. Everything is delicious!
The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and never rush you. It's a wonderful meet up place to just be with friends or family--a coveted "third place" to hang out at that's becoming so hard to find after the pandemic.
IF YOU WANT TO SUPPORT WONDERFUL LOCAL MOM & POP STORES OVER CORPORATE BUSINESS THAT SHUT THEM DOWN, come here! Genuinely great food and wonderful staff!

Nothing but the best! We came in and only ordered the sweets because we had coffee already, and sat down. Someone( I failed to get her name) came up to us and offered Cafe de la hoya. Took? me back to the years I lived in Guadalajara. The coffee, sweets, and service is with no doubt deserving of 10×s? ?????????

I wanted to stop into breakfast on my way out of town and this spot did not disappoint.I got a classic cappuccino that was so balanced and smooth and their chorizo omelette was exactly what I needed. I also got a warm blueberry scone right out of the oven and it was divine! The staff was so friendly and inviting as well, and I could tell that many of the customers were reoccurring (I would come here often too if I lived here). Even when I needed to leave quicker than I expected, the staff was very understanding and accommodating. This place is a gem and I’ll for sure be back when I’m in Orange next. Thank you Cafe Zocalo for a wonderful experience!
