Bosscat Kitchen & Libations

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants for dinner/drinks with friends. The staff is always friendly and have great recommendations. The short rib anything is always my go to food item. However, tonight we had just ordered another round of drinks and fries and we were asked to leave because they needed the table for other guests. We had been there for 2.5 hours catching up and we thought it was a reasonable ask so my group and I left to Urth's Cafe to finish our conversation. When we walked back (30 mins later) our table was still empty! Clearly, they just wanted us out of the restaurant. We weren't even being loud or obnoxious. Sadly, they've just lost my business. Best of luck filling up all your tables!

All was great, food was a little rich for me.

Kid-friendliness: Good for kids for breakfast but, not sure about dinner. Seemed more adult centric

This gentleman who is at the front was extremely disrespectful to our family. We walked in to have a seat at the bar, unaware there was a private event. The man at the front aggressively grabbed and pushed my sister in law out. He then proceeded to flip her off. Truly a disappointing event considering we're locals who love to pop in here often. Food is decent, bartenders are always amazing, and the hosts are usually really pleasant.

First the good news! We were there today for our annual Christmas get together and there were 10 of us in a private room. Our server Amanda was great! She had a great personality and accommodated all our needs. Now to the bad news! I decided to splurge and ordered their ribeye steak and it happened to be the most expensive thing on their menu. Well…. The steak was dry and had absolutely no flavor. I’m really not sure it was a ribeye🫤. The pepper sauce for the steak basically tasted like A1 sauce. I was very disappointed and couldn’t eat my meal. The manager informed me that because it was a high end item they could not credit our check. So, I was charged $52.00 for a meal I DIDN’T and COULDN’T eat. SO… BEWARE!!!

we ordered their Thanksgiving dinner for ~$240 for pick up at 12 pm. we arrived a couple minutes early and they asked us to wait, no big deal. by 12:20, we still had not received our food. Bosscat gave us a 3 hour window to pick up during. you're telling me that they couldn't be ready in the middle of that timeframe? on top of that, the bartender and staff made no effort to tell a group of rowdy guests that they need to tone down their swearing and fighting, so all of that waiting time was spent outside because we didn't want to sit inside and listen to that.

when we brought the food home, the trouble didn't stop. the turkey was DRY. all however many lbs they gave us was dry as a bone, either from over cooking or over brining. over salting was just a problem throughout, from the cornbread stuffing to the mashed potatoes. green beans were undercooked (i guess they assumed most would be reheating the food before eating).

the only dish worth mentioning is their Mac n Cheese. it was phenomenal and if it wasn't for the bad atmosphere and service, we might've written this off as "a bad day for them".

for the amount of money spent and the sodium heartburn that came after, we will not be reordering their Thanksgiving dinner meal. we will not likely go in to eat either as there are many places in OC to try without repeating this one.

Showed up mid-afternoon to eat. Got seated and then sat for over an half and hour with no acknowledgement we were there. People that came in after us were seated, ate and left before someone noticed us flagging them down. Weak ass apology, followed by a floundering manager who was more annoyed I was short with his staff than rectifying the situation. Unacceptable and inept all around. Got the same "kitchen issues" BS excuse, too.

Used to use the Irvine location for work parties, this location killed all future business for both locations.

A nice facility near the orange circle. We were there for Sunday brunch which is not really their forte, though the cinnamon roll that our table shared was excellent. What I mean by not their forte is little things like lukewarm coffee, a blah brunch menu, and no salt and pepper at the table (at any table) when you are serving several egg dishes.

Above 5 stars for us!! Food and vibe was great! The service was excellent. The manager, Chris went above and beyond to make us feel like VIPs. Definitely recommend for celebrations!

We were there for a private event. We were served several different appetizers. The grilled shrimp and meatballs were delicious. The drinks were also delightful.
Our server was engaging and managed the large party with ease. The atmosphere was fun with a mixed crowd. Couples and groups of friends.

I had to host an event with over 20 people with only about a week to prepare and bosscat was amazing at accommodating us! Special shoutout to Jessica who was fantastic at getting everyone settled and making sure things were running smoothly. I had to ask her to limit some orders since we had a budget and she handled it so well and made what a could’ve been a really stressful event for me so enjoyable. Could not recommend this place more for both dinner and events!

My fiancé and I had a date night here. Our server Skylar was amazing, ALL of food was delicious, and the manager was also great and came up to check in in us. We are definitely coming back, highly recommend this place!
