What happened to this place? It started odd sooooo promising but it quickly became apparent that this place was ran so poorly it never had a chance to succeed.

Great place to eat. We stopped here and grabbed some good ol fried Chicken. Orderd like a 10 piece with biscuits and mashed potatoes and it put a great taste in my mouth. Creamed corn was good, Think i may have found some soul food in the OC lol. Which more and more ethnic foods are coming to OC. Anyhow great people that work here and im happy.

Amazing food fantastic service and the seating outside is stellar. Best Chicken Sandwich in The OC. Ate 1/2 of it before I could even snap a pic Fries were fantastic as well!

It gets 2 stars due to my chicken being expired and reheated I got nice crispy layer but the chicken was expired and the sides were good but the main course was not good by any means?‍♂️ service was okay just the chicken and I got a big meal so it was all thrown away when I got home.

Just got the most disgusting inedible chicken dinner. I had about 3 bites and threw out the rest of the disgusting horrible meal. Ugh

I really wanted to love this place. Great location. Great style. Great menu. But the flavor of the chicken and the sides were so disappointing we didn't finish the food. Purchased an 8 piece meal with cornbread and creamed corn. Dumped half of it and dug out leftovers from the fridge for dinner. I'm not sure if it was the buttermilk (which I typically like), old oil, or the seasoning heavily added at the end, but something was strange. I truly hope that it's just my taste and others enjoy this place. But I will not be back.

Drove 15 miles on a Sunday for lunch. No customers inside. When ordering I was told "we don't have any taster tots and we don't have Mac and cheese?!?! "It's been a busy weekend". Yeah no excuse s are good enough. If you ran out of sides the owner or manager should have taken a trip to the store, right?! This is the second time that they were out of sides. The first time it was diet soda and mashed potatoes. Chicken is really good but not driving fifteen miles when thevv V sides are non existent.

This place was great pre Covid or even a few months aho. I am not sure what has happened since. Recently placed an online order. Order was late. In the middle I saw the person that started my order walk out. My order was seen to be picked up from the warming area and placed in a broiler. The person that picked up my order was seem working on a mechanical item and performing other tasks without washing his hands before handling the chicken. The order was ready late. I tried a piece 3 minutes later. It was barely room temperature and the chicken was inedibly old. I called the store and asked if it's possible I was not given the fresh one. I was told it was not possible. During my visit, I heard employees talk about how labor day was significantly slower than expected. Since it's Thursday, if the order was fresh, I wonder if I was given expired marinated chicken.

Surprisingly good food and generous portions. Price is comparable to a Canes' or Chick Fil-A. Service was fast and friendly. We look forward to returning.

A little misleading They are closed on Mondays, or at least today. Simply wishing that they would advertise their correct hours.

It's not my first time @ Buttermilk Fried Chicken and it's not my last. Took my buddy and his brother here for the first time. We had classic (Cole slaw/spicy pickle/spicy aioli/Fresno chili) chicken sandwich, the Nichols (buffalo sauce/pickles/ranch/jalapeno) chicken sandwich, and the chicken strips. Sides were tater tots and Mac & cheese. The chicken was so juicy on the inside yet so crispy on the outside. I don't know how they do it, but the chicken never felt greasy or oily at all! The Mac & cheese was creamy and packed full of flavor. The tator tots were crispy outside and soft inside so they melt in your mouth. The toppings on the sandwiches were a hurricane of texture, spices and flavors. 10/10 would reccomend!

I had the four piece combo with mac & cheese and creamed corn, which I am told are their most popular sides. The chicken was crispy and moist & juicy. At first it seemed a little salty, but after a while I realized that the seasoning sprinkled on was salty, not that the chicken meat was salty, as if it were brined, it wasn't, so the pieces that were thicker didn't seem quite so salty and I presume that you could ask for no seasoning and add it yourself as it was available on each table. Mac & cheese was mild, not terribly cheesy, but very tasty and it grew on me as I ate it. I liked it. The creamed corn was a little soupy and sweet but enjoyable. Cornbread had a mild taste of jalapeno but it wasn't hot. The honey was spicy honey, very good. Iced tea was good.

Delicious food! Excellent service. The fried chicken breading was light and fluffy! Excited to come back. We ordered the classic sandwich, deviled eggs, creamed corn, and braised greens. My 5 year old had the kids meal with 3 strips and tots - yum! Toddler approved!

So good! The Mac n cheese could have been better but the chicken is definitely the winner winner. We got the stripes with bbq and ranch, both sauces tasty with the fresh and perfected crust chicken.
