I wanted to give an updated review because I got my mom and sisters birthday cake here I picked it up today it was the best cake I've ever had I got the marble cake with butter cream frosting and Bavarian cream everything about this cake was great it was delicious I highly recommend them if you need a cake .

Awesome and very good anything pastries. I ordered a carrot cake with cream cheese filling for a celebration and that cake was very satisfying, my only problem was that I didn't ordered a bigger cake cause there was no left overs for the next day. Since it was Mardi Gras and having been to 'Nawlins several times, I couldn't possibly celebrate without a little Jambalaya, a little Abita beer, and a King Cake to round it out. After making several calls to local bakeries, I was surprised that more places were not carrying King Cake. But when I called French's, the kind woman on the phone said that they had several available and was happy to put one aside for me. Hopped in the car and down the road I went. I was greeted warmly as I walked in by the staff. The place was very clean, and the smells were wonderful. They had several of the King Cakes on the counter, so I asked the woman helping me for the best one she had. She explained that they had some plain and some with pockets of apple filling. Then she said that the best one she had (with the apple) was already on hold for someone who called in just a few minutes ago. I smiled and gave her my name and she just laughed and said that she knew it was me by the voice. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for having a great sense of humor and being so kind. It can really make a person's day by being nice and having a great attitude. All of the staff laughed at the interaction between us. She gave me the saved cake, I paid my $18, threw a few bucks in the tip jar, and down the road I went again. Had the King Cake after dinner. For those that haven't had it, it is a bit more like a bread than what you think of in a traditional cake. And the apple really helps with the overall flavor, in my opinion. I've had it both ways in NOLA, so it didn't make me no nevermind, as they would say. And I ended up getting the baby in the cake piece I got, so good luck and tidings for me in the coming year to boot! Great service, good offerings, reasonable prices, I will be back again for my other pastry needs. Hope that helps someone in their decision to go.

Tried this place for the first time recently and ordered the little butter chocolate chip cookies and a carrot cake cupcake. Wow. The cookies melt in your mouth, the cupcake had such great flavor and was not too filling at all which I enjoy. Employees are very helpful and informational

I looooove sweets and this place takes the cake! Their cupcakes, breads, cakes and cookies are shamzing! And did I say the have 1.00 cupcake Tuesdays!!! They have limit but you can feed a small classroom! They are so Light and fluffy. My go to for cupcakes now! And their streusel and danishes. Delicious.

We have been going here for 15+ years. I had a cake for my birthday. Picked it up 2/3/24. Ordered a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. The cake tasted wonderful like normal but once you cut cake open you can see it was a white cake that they dyed yellow. Most of it was yellow but white parts through out. It looked like it was colored after the fact. Yellow cake batter is...yellow through and through. Again it was tasty but it should have been all yellow. Looked like a cover up for a mistake

A family favorite, we've been getting celebratory baked goods for years from the Orange location. Service and professionalism can fluctuate when it comes to explanations, patience and clarity of order taking, but clearly nothing that's kept me from returning. My last visit there was lovely, and I was more than thrilled to once again nab my annual birthday cake which never disappoints. The Orange location is in an easily accessible location within a mid-size shopping center, and the ambience inside is cozy and often times bustling. Highly recommend their Cupcake Tuesday promotion.

Awesome bakery. Tuesdays have $1 cupcakes!Parking: This is in a strip mall, so there is community parking for everyone there. When I went it had plenty of parking.
I placed an order with French's Bakery on October 27th (picked up Nov 4th) for a SpongeBob themed cake for my 25th birthday. I emailed the bakery with 4 pictures and a video of the cake I wanted, as well as a written understanding that I knew it was a detailed order and letting them know that if it wasn't possible to make my cake, let me know so I can find a bakery that can accommodate . I was told that they can do everything, minus the pearls...I accepted and paid at pick up on Nov 4th. I also double checked that a week would be ample time to make my order. Unfortunately upon pickup, I was disappointed to see that the cake didn't look like what I had asked for or what I had communicated with the bakery. The blue was super dark and the birthday writing was missing altogether from the top of the cake. There's also little clear flecks on the top of the cake. They kinda look like sprinkles but they're only on half the cake...I never asked for sprinkles. It just overall looked like a rushed job. There was a noticeable difference in the decorating quality of my cake versus the other beautiful cakes and pastries in their cases. The lady at the counter said she couldn't scrape anything off the top (to avoid making a mess) and that the decorator was not in the bakery to fix the cake. She said that he is usually very busy in the mornings and assumed that it probably was an oversight....super disappointing to miss one of the more important parts of a birthday cake. The lady ended up offering to write in the wording on a clear piece of plastic and stick it on top of the cake or I could take it as is. She ended up taking $20 off of the final price. I took my cake home and tried my best to make it look how I had hoped... I was very excited to pick up the cake and see how it turned out. I and other coworkers have ordered cakes/pastries from French's and haven't been dissatisfied. I know my disappointment showed on my face. The taste was very lackluster. It was a light angel food style cake, nothing about the filling resembled the strawberry mouse I chose as recommended my the woman that took my order over the phone. She said it was her favorite.... The layers weren't leveled, so there were big pockets of frosting on the sides of the cake layers. I attached pictures of what it was supposed to look like, how it looked when I picked it up, and what it looked like after I took it home to "fix" it, as well as what it looked like inside. Moral of the story...If you don't have the time or staff allotted to fulfill quality orders, don't accept them. If there are discrepancies with an order, call the customer.

Recently ordered our daughter's birthday cake here and it was delicious!! Did the small red velvet layer cake with cream cheese frosting and it was delicious! So moist and the handwriting on the cake was superb as well! Very tastefully done!!! I will definitely be getting other special occasion cakes here!!!

I came here to get cupcakes for a birthday party and used the groupon that was available. It was a reasonable price for everything I got which were (12 cupcakes, 24 cookies and one Chocolate Chip Wagon Wheel). The food is really pretty and the presentation one all of it made it seem like it would be delicious but unfortunately it just wasn't. The cupcakes were dry and dense. The wagon wheel tasted spoiled and rotten and the cookies were hard and stale and tasted plain. It's very unfortunate because this place has such good reviews and the people there were very nice (which is why I give this 2 stars). I just wish everything wasn't so dry and bland.

I placed an order over the phone a week before for a birthday cake. The young lady who answered gave me all the info price and cake layout. She said I can pay when I pick it up. Then I was running a little late called them to let them know since I live in a different county and I come to find out that there was no order for me. I was beyond upset since it was for my daughters birthday. Luckily the baker was there and was able to put a cake together for me. How it tastes I won’t know till later. Regardless go in and pay for your cakes otherwise you run the chance of having no cake for your special event.
