The service was great, the atmosphere is like a night club with music so loud one could not talk. I can understand this atmosphere after 9pm or so, but not during g dinner.

Came here for brunch buffet as Newport location no longer has it, buffet used to be $29/person with unlimited mimosas & micheladas with mariachi, now it’s $29/person, no drinks included & no mariachi, just background music. Overall great AYCE buffet with various stations but price should be lowered given no alcohol is included.

Everything was fine until I got the bill. I took my boyfriend here for his birthday so he can get the margarita flight and tacos. I also got food and drinks. We sat at the bar ordered our drinks. The bartenders switched as a new shift happened. So we had someone else take our food order. When my boyfriend went to the restroom I asked for them to do a birthday celebration. She went and got another server because I guess she didn’t understand me. So she came and asked what kind of shot my boyfriend prefers and I told her tequila and she listed tequila. I said Don Julio and she charged me for the most expensive one without telling me. And she brought two shots and I thought it was only one shot for him. My boyfriend took both shots knowing that I wouldn’t take the shot and each shot was $50. When I know that there was a cheaper one on their menu. I spent over $200 and half that being for two shots and I kind of was disappointed that the bartenders did not communicate with me. I did feel there is a language barrier and some confusion on their part but it wasn’t that busy for them to not communicate with me or at least try to. The food was good don’t get me wrong. Just I was very disappointed when it came to communication with their servers/bartenders. I paid the amount I did because I didn’t wanna complain About it in front of my boyfriend on his birthday because I wanted him to have a good time. But I think they should be able to communicate with other people. When it comes to that birthday celebration and how much people are wanting to spend on that and not just assume and amp up their price just because. She could’ve asked or said.“ Is this one OK for the price??” Because maybe it was the only one left or maybe I would want to change the type of tequila If they were out. But I wasn’t given that option. They assumed I would Pay $50 per shot. When I know there was a cheaper one of Don Julio on their menu

Came here for the first time on a Thursday around 1pm. My husband and I were greeted and seated right away. Our waitress Carmen was very nice and attentive. She took our drink order right away and offered us free chips and salsa. We both had Pacifico draft beer, not the coldest. We then ordered an appetizer. We opted for the nachos and added carne asada to them and they were delicious! The carne was seasoned very well, this was by far our favorite and will definitely order these again as they are shareable and filling. We then decided to order a grilled chicken sandwich that came with french fries on the side. It had a little spice to it because of the chili de arborl sauce. We were so full but I kept eyeing the churro ice cream sandwich, our waitress Carmen recommended that she can make to go, so I did that! The churro was freshly made and still warm when she brought it with our check! We had a great experience since it wasn't busy. We will definitely go again!

Kalaveras is a vibe. Food is decent . Taco Tuesday is a must. You tell the server how many tacos you want. They give you a receipt and you go to the back and someone heats up your tortillas. Then you tell them what types of tacos you want and then they place the meat on your tortilla. Then you go to the salsa bar and dress up your tacos. Tacos were decent. My least favorite is pastor bc they cube the meat and that made it chewy. Asada was decent but I wished it had a crispy char on the outside. I loved the barbacoa . Skip the chicarron . Margarita was strong. I was pleased by the chips and salsa. Place was decorated nicely. They had a nice spacious parking lot. Outside of the building had awesome graffiti art.

Been to a kalveras before in La Puente , so decided to try this one in OC. Didn't order any food since I ate before getting there , i just ordered the drinks 😁🍹💯!!! Our bartender Teresa was very kind and very helpful she was actually very honest as well about the drinks and wasn't just saying whatever to make us buy stuff which I really appreciated. I paid total $116.00 with tip included but had a great time! They have music playing on the speakers which is good because it's not boring so good vibes makes u wanna party! 🥳 && The place is decorated so nicely! When you enter they have a hallway of flowers 🌺🌸🌼 it's just so beautiful, and the walls have like graffiti skeletons 💀💀💀 it's super dope! I ordered 2 🍉🍭🇲🇽 Watermelon Mexican Candy Shots! $10 each! Bomb! 💣 Had chamoy rim with tajin , watermelon candy lollipop and I think vodka or tequila can't remember, but very very good! Nothing super crazy of a shot! I was actually able to drink it whole and not feel like I was gonna Vomit! Next was the Margarita flight 🍹🍹🍹🍹 ! 😍 So good! They have actual fresh fruit and ingredients in the drinks nothing artificial about the taste! I believe the flight was around $22? It came with 4 mini but strong margaritas, I got Cucumber 🥒, Pineapple 🍍, Chamoyada 🥭 , and Tamarindo 🤤😍 she was able two switch two flavors for me since im not a big fan of guava and I already tried a Jamaica drink. I didn't drink all these alone I had my bf with me so we were both feeling pretty lit and he also really loved the drinks! And then I ordered El Chupacabra it's tequila, lime, agave, orange liquor and Hibiscus 🌺 (Jamaica) 🩷! This drink was so good! It had a salt and pepper rim mix it was so great it paired very well with the drink! 🌺🍹 And real fresh fruit guys! It had real pieces of Jamaica like a real drink! 👌👌👌 My bf ordered the Pepinos con Chile drink came with the same ingredients as El Chupacabra but just with Chile Jalapenos & Pepinos 🥒 , he likes that one as well wasn't anything sweet , only thing he can say it that it tasted healthy 😅 but he still enjoyed it. He also ordered Mi Novia Fresa 🍓 it was very good sweet but not too sweet still fresh and not drowning in tequila! And I also had ordered a Mi Cucu, 😍🤤😍 omg this drink was amazzing!! Tequila and sparkling wine omg what a great mix! Wasn't anything too strong but not weak either , flavor was great fruitty, sweet, a bit sour! Great combination and couldn't have been done without a great bartender. She didn't over serve with alcohol and drinks were well made. Definitely somewhere I would go back! They also have brunch on the weekends I believe . To be honest we were feeling pretty good when we left! 🥴🍹💯 They were so good the drinks they they got me full due to how fast I was drinking them. Totally recommend! They also have a Taco Tuesday, if I knew about that I would of ate there but next time! 😁🌮 They also sing if it's ur birthday 🥳 and have like this crazy cool sparkle candle 🕯️💥, hella extra, i love it! ✨ I did try the tostada ceviche at the La Puente location though so I can say that the ceviche tostadas are good!
