Best malasadas outside of Hawaii

Kyle Tucker

Las Vegas is known to be the Aloha State's ninth island. In Vegas is really known for its Hawaiian food. It’s really hard to find really good Hawaiian food here in California. But California, you've redeemed yourself! Enter Keoni Island, our new Hawalian haven.
We devoured:
Combo beef/beef plate - tender, juicy, and no need for a time-share.
2. Chicken Katsu - crispy perfection, no laser surgery required.
3. Spam musubi - because, priorities.
And that Mac salad? An epic poem deserves to be written about its creamy, tangy delightfulness.
Service? Top-notch. Food? Amazing. Spam cravings? Satisfied.
Keoni Island, we'll be back for more. Our taste buds (and our love for Spam) demand it.

I was unable to take a picture of this incredible food because we ate it so quickly.
This is a new favorite restaurant.
The we got the combo plate with short rib and pork belly, and the pork belly was so well cooked I could cut through it with a plastic spoon. The slaw is incredible, and the Mac salad had just the right amount of seaweed to be savory, but not overwhelming.
The music selection was also 100% on point.
10/10 recommend, do not skip this place

This is the most flavorful Hawaii BBQ I've ever had. Usually hbbq is pretty simple but this place is explosive in flavor. Also one plate is enough for two meals so the price is worth it. I hurt if I eat it all at once and I can throw down some food. I can easily come here once a week. Try it!

I really enjoyed the food! Pork Belly and Garlic Furikake Chicken were highlights. Also got tasty spam musubi. The coleslaw and mac salad sides aren’t just throw-ins. You can tell that each dish is well thought out and slightly more elevated compared to other Hawaiian bbq places.

Fantastic Hawaiian restaurant. The burger is great, katsu Sando as well. Their pork belly is also fantastic!

I ordered chicken/chicken plate. The portion is plenty. Chicken flavored is a little salty for us and I wish I had some veggies to eat with it. The staff was very friendly and explained the details before we ordered. We will come back.

The food is definitely made to order. I have been wanting to try their food for sometime and just now got to swing by. We literally ordered and sat down 2 min. before the Friday night dinner rush. So thankful we did.

I ordered the combo plate of chicken katsu and pork belly with double mac salad (I'm not a slaw person). The rice was good but maybe just a touch dry. The katsu was crispy and flavorful. The sauce (I think katsu sauce) was different but good. The pork belly was the highlight and would come back for it again in the future! The Mac salad was good with a nice touch of furikake on top. My only critique was that the Mac salad was a bit too salty for my taste. Nothing unbearable but just a bit.

I would come back to try other items on their menu as I believe their food tastes less "mass produced" compared to other hawaiian places around. Definitely a good local spot to try if you are in the mood for island food.

I really liked the decor of the restaurant. I ordered BBQ beef and Teriyaki chicken to go, but people who arrived after us all got their meals, while I had to wait 30 minutes on-site to get mine. I was eagerly expecting delicious food, but when I opened the meal box, the beef was very tough, and the chicken was very hard. I felt very disappointed and regretful.

Been here a couple of times, and it never disappoints.

Everything on the menu hits the point spot on.

The malasada has and will haunt my dreams. It's so addictively delicious.

This is one of the few places that my office is always excited to order from

Amazing food! By far the best Hawaiian BBQ we’ve ever had. The pork belly is delicious along side with everything else on the menu. The Ube horchata drinks are so good and refreshing. The owner greeted us and as we started to talk he found out we weren’t from around here and actually had a long drive home he gave us 2x Ube horchata drinks for the road. We will definitely be coming back here again. A ++++++++++++ food and service.
