Good food...when I can get my order. Been trying to order food for over an hour now through postmates and both times it tells me to update my order because something is out. But it doesn't let me update. Customer service is terrible too. Please update your menu accurately

Cheat meal day for the Presidential debate a while back and we decided to order Hawaiian. I had originally wanted the Big Kahuna plate which is part of their all day breakfast, has all the meats in it. However they didn't have it! :(WHICH, was a blessing in disguise. I ended up getting the combo plate - The Momona, which had Kalbi ribs, BBQ chicken, and the star of the show - the beef ribs. Just like beef ribs at any American BBQ store, the beef ribs here fall off the bone. What's different is that it has a different, almost Hawaiian style dressing and smokiness which was so good!! The plate came with rice, potato mac and cheese. It was so filling and I obviously didn't kill the entire plate. Definitely would be coming back for more!

This place is over priced there meat portions are tiny an they fill the plate with rice. The meat is is crazy salty. I'm a born an raised local boy from Ohau an I couldn't even finish my $12 crazy salty af chicken katsu plate. I do not recommend this place at all!

The food is some of the best Hawaiian BBQ you will find in O.C. All of the plate lunch offerings I have tried are authentic. The beef ribs are really, really good. The poke here is like what you get in Hawaii. If the musubi is fresh, it is great.Service is kind of abrupt. I kind of get the feeling I am a burden when I place an order. That is a turn-off for me. Prices are a bit high, but portions and quality are good. I will be back for the food, but I wish they would improve the attitude a bit.

So glad we figured out that this use to be Musubi Monster (had been on our list to try). We ordered the chicken katsu, kalbi plate and spam musubi. Pick up was easy (they only do takeaway). I normally don't like macaroni salad but really enjoyed this one - not too heavy with the mayo and on the sweeter side.

Your location808 Local Hawaiian Grill374 S Main St, Orange, CA 92868RestaurantJ. J.42 points 4 weeks agoI was in the area and was looking for good local grub. I found this place with 5 stars. Unfortunately, it failed me. I ordered the chicken katsu plate with rice, mac salad, and spinach salad. I enjoyed the spinach and mac salads. Spinach had a yummy teriyaki like dressing, not too rich. The mac salad had a sugar kick to it. It was good. However, the katsu not as appetizing. It was covered in a sauce with extra sodium, super salty. It took away from the katsu crunch and taste. Made the katsu soggy, not crunchy. They could do away with that awful sauce or place it on the side. Below par. The presentation was good, but as you know most "Hawaiian" places give lots of food. This was not the case. I enjoy Aloha Hawaiian BBQ, flavorful, and this is nothing like that. Disappointing for a place claiming to be local Hawaiian grub. The owner was super nice, but the food was blah.3,107

One of my favorite Hawaiian places!!!! I love love love their beef ribs. It's so flavorful and yummy. Their plates usually come with 2-3 huge beef bones. I also enjoy their grilled chicken but sometimes it gets over cooked and dried out so it's a hit or miss. Their galbi short ribs are also a must try! They have a combo plate where you can get a sample of all 3 so if it's your first time I would do that. Their chicken katsu is a safe bet too but I'd ask for their katsu sauce on the side so your chicken doesn't get soggy. Call ahead so you don't have to wait!

We love this place! The food reminds us of Hawaii and the poke is more authentic to what you would find in Hawaii compared to the poke bowl places. We were frequent patrons of this place when it was called Musubi Monster and continue to be now. This is still our favorite go-to spot to get poke (served in several flavors and exactly how you would get it in Hawaii), spam musubi and combo plates. We love the loco moco (burger patties are big and seasoned perfectly along with really good gravy).

The wife and I had a hankering for Hawaiian brotein and 808 hit the spot. We delved into some poke to start with 1/4 lb each of ginger and Hawaiian-style, both were pretty fresh though I found the latter's a bit over-sauced and too sweet (for reference, "Hawaiian-style" is the most austere poke preparation).Moving into the hot dishes, definitely give the Katsu Loco Moco a shot! Freshly fried, the batter was delightfully hot and crispy leading to fatty, tender meat inside. Its sauce was lighter colored and different than the traditional darker gravy, but tasty nonetheless. An extra nod went to the furikake-seasoned rice and well done mac salad. My Island Beef Ribs was a glorious sight to behold with three massive bones loaded with meat. However, the taste was hardly what I was expecting...the specialty sauce they used was intensely salty & sweet and combined with the thorough cooking, the meat tasted like teriyaki beef jerky. The first couple bites were good, but the salt & sweet together with inadequate fattiness quickly became monotonous.Overall, solid dishes all around with some more balanced than others. Staff was friendly and the portions very generous.

Yoooo the poke here is sooooo gooooood!!!!!!!It's authentic Hawaiian style, sold by the pound. So for all those people that are into the build-your-own-poke bowls... come get the real deal. It's way better. The beef ribs are bomb too. Mac is bomb. Musubis are bomb. Definitely coming back again and again.Thank you for providing this delicious and healthy option for the community!!

I have been here twice this month and it's only halfway through the month! The portions are huge, the pricing is fair, the food is really really satisfying. Food is so fresh both times I've gone they run out of things hours before closing. This place is a hole in the wall and not many people know it, but if you get a chance, give them a try!

My husband and I have been patrons of this establishment since our cross country move to Orange County several years ago (back when this location was still Musubi Monster). Although we no longer live in O.C., we can say that we haven't found a place that even parallels the Hawaiian goodness of this spot. We were worried with the name change that the taste and quality may have been compromised, but to our delight our favorite poke and musubi items were still on the menu and tasting delicious as always. We were also thrilled to see even more items offered beyond poke and musubis, although we didn't stray away from our usual order to try anything new. If you're looking for some amazing Hawaiian food, 808 Local Hawaiian Grill in Orange is the place to go!Located in a small strip mall/shopping center, 808 Local Hawaiian Grill is nestled in a modest space within the center. Prior to covid, they had a few tables for people to dine in, but during my most recent visit, customers had to take their food to go (no outdoor seating). This was my first time visiting this location as 808 Local Hawaiian Grill, however, the service and food remained remarkable. My husband and I were warmly greeted by the young man taking orders, service was prompt and efficient, and everything tasted delicious. We did not phone our order ahead so there was a little bit of a wait to get our food, but nothing too long. Our food was packaged well, fresh, tasty, perfect portion sizes, and well worth the wait. As mentioned earlier, we only ordered poke and a musubi to share. The poke was a home run as usual in which my husband and I LOVED the Spicy Garlic and Cali-Hi! The Spicy Garlic has a nice kick to it (nothing overpowering) and the Cali-Hi is a great take on a California Roll but in poke form. Super refreshing and so delicious. Together, they made the perfect combo!808 Local Hawaiian Grill in Orange will continue to remain as one of my favorite poke places in Orange County. Although I love my staple favorites, I look forward to trying more of the items they now offer since I love Hawaiian food. Can't wait for my next visit!

Mouth watering , foodgasm , Ono-licous ... you get the point right. This place has the hookup for your Hawaiian food cravings . Their plate lunches delicous and filling and their poke is just seasoned/flavored right. You will not be disappointed and on top of that their price is right too.

I've been here several times and the food has typically always been great. But today I unfortunately had a terrible experience. First off...we ordered 2 bbq chickens and both our chickens were burnt so bad we could barely eat any of it!! The worst part that really bothered me was the fact that the cook comes from the back with NO MASK and is there cooking all the meat on the grill. During this pandemic I thought workers in restaurants (especially those handling food!) should always have their masks on? I completely regret not saying something when I saw it, but I was in a rush to go back to work and was starving. But of course, opened my plate to crispy black chicken. I don't know if I'll be coming back here which is unfortunate cause this was a hot spot for lunch for myself and my coworkers as we work across the street. Not sure if I should place any further complaints about the mask to the health dept? If you're the owner and you read this, please do something about requiring staff to be masked at all times when handling food...Would love to hear your thoughts on this...
