I've been on the hunt for a good Chinese restaurant that serves soup dumplings without pork since I don't eat it, and that's honestly been harder to find than I expected. So when I came across a TikTok video about Super Dumpling, which serves Halal Chinese food, I was really excited finally a place where I could enjoy pretty much anything on the menu!
We decided to make the 30-minute drive, and upon arrival, we were seated right away. The restaurant wasn't too busy, and the service was excellent from the start our server was attentive, quick with refills, and even gave us his recommendations. The space was also very clean and nicely kept, which I appreciated.
Now, the reason for the three stars comes down to the food quality and pricing.
For starters, I ordered what most people on TikTok recommended the beef and crab soup dumplings. I also took our server's suggestion and added the spicy chicken wontons, shrimp fried rice, and a beef and vegetable entrée (which I believe was the broccoli beef). I also ordered a Thai tea, since it was popular among other diners.
Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the rave reviews I had seen. The Thai tea was the first thing to arrive, and it was extremely sweet almost undrinkable. I asked if it could be made less sweet, and the server brought back the same cup with more milk added. It helped slightly, but it was still way too sweet for my taste.
Next came the shrimp fried rice. Presentation wise, it looked beautiful, but the flavor was bland and underwhelming. I had to ask for sweet and sour sauce to give it some life. For the price, I expected a more generous portion of shrimp we only counted about 5-6 pieces, which felt like a bit of a letdown.
The beef and vegetable dish (my husband's order) was actually the best thing we tried. The flavor was spot on, but the texture of the meat wasn't great it felt a bit off, almost like it had been boiled or wasn't the best quality cut. It didn't come with rice either, which we had to order separately.
Then came the highly anticipated soup dumplings. My husband thought they were decent and rated them 5/10. For me, they were more of a 3/10 the flavor just didn't hit right. The spicy chicken wontons were okay in texture, but again, they were lacking in flavor and definitely not as spicy as expected.
Overall, Super Dumpling isn't a terrible restaurant, and I do appreciate that it's Halal and has a wide range of options. The service was wonderful, and the restaurant itself was spotless and comfortable. But for the high prices, I expected much better flavor and consistency.
Maybe we just came on an off day, or maybe it's just not for us but personally, I don't see myself returning. There are other places out there that serve more flavorful food for half the price.

Super dumpling was on my radar to come to when visiting California because we don't have any halal dumplings where I live. I was really looking forward to it and, thankfully, they lived up to the hype.
The pan beef fried buns were great, as were was everything else that we bought ordered. The wontons and dumplings were amazing. We got both pan fried and steamed to try both of them and they were both great.
Thankfully, we were able to find seating fairly quickly for our family of five, but they were really busy and definitely get packed quickly. I'm not sure if you can call ahead, but it's worth a shot. I actually canceled our reservation to another place close to the area just because I would rather support an establishment that has meat, and i'm happy to have found that here.
Food and Service is always on point. We have tried a few different plates and we have no complaints.

Honestly used to love this place. Placed an online order and received rude service from the hostess up front. Borderline yelled at me to go wait outside? Whether you dine in or do take out you should respect a paying customer.

A friend recommended this place. I'm so delighted to have tried it.
I've been deprived of dumplings since they're almost always pork :/
Finally, a place that serves yummy halal dumplings.
They also have other Chinese dishes that I love.
The restaurant has lots of indoor seating plus lots of patio seating. It's well decorated plus nice ambiance. The staff is super friendly and hospitable. They made recommendations.
When we arrived there was already a line of people waiting to be seated... Always a good sign. We waited about 20 minutes for our group of four.
We looked over the menu while waiting to be seated.
We ordered a few dishes.
-Chicken Xiao Long Bao was yummy and juicy.
-Pan fried beef buns are also excellent... They're fluffy with a slight sweet taste and crispy shell. They're juicy too.
-Orange Chicken was good...very similar to Panda Express but pricier. I would've passed on that except one person in our group wanted it.
-Spicy chicken wonton were very good and juicy.
-Spicy cumin Lamb was AMAZING!!! I would say that was the best dish.
Portions are just right and prices are reasonable.
Will be returning to try other items on their menu. Luckily, they also opened another location in Culver City.

Delicious Dumplings and Great Vibes!
I stopped by Super Dumplings while in Orange County, and it definitely lived up to the hype. The dumplings were fresh, juicy, and packed with flavor—especially the pan-fried ones. We also tried the orange chicken, which was crispy, tangy, and perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. The menu had a great variety, and everything we ordered was top-notch. The service was quick and friendly, and the place had a clean, casual atmosphere. Highly recommend if you’re craving quality dumplings and classic Chinese dishes in the area!

This was truly some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in the U.S. the quality of the dumplings are simply superb. Amazing depth of flavors and meaty juices in all of their types of dumplings. The textures are on point as well. The orange chicken is also really great quality on how they prepare the glaze. Highly recommend this halal friendly Chinese establishment.

I give 1 star for customer service. My wife and family love this place I called if you guys need reservations and the lady that answered the phone on 8/24/2025 at 3:56pm told me no reservations and before I said anything hanged up the phone on me. That is NOT a good customer service just so you know. It is always best to be on great customer service, you know know who is your customer. Not acceptable to just hangup the phone on any customer.

I love dumplings and was so excited to learn there’s a halal dumpling spot in SoCal. The service was quick and excellent, and the restaurant was bright, clean, and lively. We ordered chicken wonton soup, pan-fried beef buns, spicy chicken wontons, chicken wings, and the crab-beef xiao long bao. I LOVED the wontons and XLB, but didn’t enjoy the buns because they were too doughy inside for my taste. I meant to order the pan-fried beef dumplings, so that’s on me! Every dumpling had soup inside and the meat was all tender and flavorful. Their drinks are also fantastic. Also: very clean bathrooms!
