Celebrating a birthday we opted for the tepanyaki experience, everything about your visit was wonderful except all my prepared food was very bland. I did enjoy my Albacore sashimi.

The server - Jojo - appeared to be less present than the bussers. She seemed irritated when we asked her to remove empy plates from the table. She was engaging with my kiddos, though. We weren't given our sharing plates with our sushi, so that made it a little awkward to start eating. Timing for when food came out was great. Always love the fried rice with anything on the menu

Always delicious and so much food. Plenty of leftovers for a second dinner. We will definitely be coming back. The host was vibrant and welcoming. Ray our cook had some tricks up his sleeve. Can’t wait to come back!

I went here for my moms 70th birthday tonight. This place is pricey and we came here for a show. There was no show. We had an older gentlemen who did a volcano and that’s it. The table next to us was having the time of their lives with catching shrimp in their mouths and the cook was doing tricks non stop. I was falling asleep at our table. Meanwhile it’s my moms 70s birthday and all we could do was just stare at the other table having fun. Next I watched the very loud manager check in with every single table in the restaurant but ours. Last, as we were leaving the manager was shouting to the entire restaurant about a 13th birthday and the whole restaurant sang to this person. Meanwhile my mom who just turned 70 today looked upset because she didn’t get anywhere near the same attention. What the heck did I pay for? Hundreds of dollars for no show, no nothing and under seasoned food. So so disappointed. I can’t take my mothers 70th birthday back. Treat all of your customers the SAME! Very unhappy customer. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the waiter was nice.

Got food poisoning and was very disappointed in the quality of the sushi, even considering the price point :(

Kabi-Ji was such a great time. We went for my wife's 28th birthday and had a group of 12, so seating did take a bit, but honestly it was expected with a party that size. The staff was really sweet and super accommodating the entire time which made the wait feel way more chill. They were kind and on it from the jump. One thing that really stood out was the pricing. Getting filet mignon and scallops hibachi style with fried rice, salad, and soup for around 34 dollars? That is hard to beat, especially for the quality. Everything we ordered, from the steak, chicken, shrimp, scallops, New York, and filet was cooked perfectly. The chef knew what he was doing and kept everyone at the table entertained and full. The fried rice was also really solid. Not too heavy on soy sauce or butter, which I liked a lot, and the portion was just right. The sauces they give you on the side always hit. That tangy or umami punch takes whatever you are eating to the next level, especially when paired with the shrimp or chicken.
Even the little things like the miso soup and salad with miso dressing were fresh and flavorful. Everything just came together nicely and I was honestly impressed. The whole experience had great energy, the food was top-tier, and it ended up being the perfect spot to celebrate my wife. I would one hundred percent recommend Kabi-Ji if you are looking for a fun hibachi dinner with solid portions, good prices, and a good time all around.

The host, Jason, was key to our enjoyment of this establishment. Was visiting son who is going to Chapman and came to the restaurant for dinner and we walked out feeling well cared for. Our server Noriko was really on top of things as well. We noticed the tie clip Jason was wearing and had a blast talking about it (Millennium Falcon). Food was on par but it was the service that stood out. The owner chef (unbeknownst to us at the time) walked by to check on us as well. Thank you for an enjoyable dinner!

Best teppanyaki / hibachi we’ve ever had 😋 (And we had a lot) Everyone there’s so kind. They even gave my son a scoop of strawberry ice-cream which made his day. So glad we found this place. We’ll definitely be back!
