Good food, extremely slow service. Waited 15 minutes just for water. First and last time I'd go. Food was good, but if you have to wait 15 minutes before you get water everything will taste good ?

We got a reservation about a week ahead of time just in case and our table was set and ready upon arrival. The service was spectacular and the food amazing. My only regret was that we didn't spring for the chef's grill experience. We will definitely be back.

Jose was the cook and Andy was the servicer. The food was absolutely immaculate. The service was great. Andy was the best server that I've had in a long time and Jose was so pleasant and so sweet. He got everything right. The expectations of this restaurant exceeded what we thought. We love the Pac-Man Jose did. We've been to benihana's but they are doing stuff at the BG's that we've never seen. I would recommend this place to anybody.. And Jason, the manager is totally efficient. The service was great and we were very pleased with everything. The drink the service. The food would recommend this place to anyone again.

Had a really good time with the whole family. Staff is friendly and efficient. We were offered a large assortment of food and beverages. The sushi and dinner for two were delicious.

Truly a hidden gem in the city of Orange. Tabi-ji never ceases to impress and we feel like it gets better and better each time we go. Our most recent experience was exceptional. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough and we would really like to thank the MasterChef Tora for our 5 star dinner. Can't wait to go back for more!

Incredible food and service. Treated our family very well and every bite was delicious. Staff seemed to anticipate guests needs and work as a really strong team. Extremely impressed. Can honestly say that I have never had such amazing service — even at high end Michelin restaurants. Will be back for sure.

Excellent restaurant. It was the second time we went there for birthdays! Great service and great food.

Our first visit to Tabi-ji did not disappoint. We were seated promptly at one of the four teppanyaki grills and were offered everything from beverages at Happy Hour prices to sushi to appetizers. They have a great variety of things to choose from. We had filet mignon with lobster and filet mignon with scallops. Our amiable chef, Justin, was careful to prepare everything to our liking while keeping us entertained. The quality of the food was excellent. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was nice, too. Even when it got busy, it wasn't too noisy. Tabi-ji is much nicer than its more well-known competitor. I highly recommend it.

Tabi-ji Japanese restaurant exceeded our expectations with their fresh and delicious food. The service was top-notch, thanks to the fantastic host Jason Turner. We had a great experience and will definitely be returning soon.

Wow! Definitely a 5-star service from reservations until we left. This is a definition of unreasonable hospitality at its finest!

We were there around 8PM on a Thursday for an anniversary date night and it definitely felt like we reserved a hibachi just for us.

Chef Tora was amazing, telling us his stories about his journey becoming a chef there all the way from Japan!

Our server Ray is also super attentive and making sure we got what we need and even more! Gave us a super bomb green tea ice cream to cap the night off.

And of course, last but definitely not the least, we adore Jason as a phenomenal host! We were in Orange but felt like we're in Vegas for dinner! He literally made our anniversary night super special with his personality and made sure everyone is happy. Definitely a champion of his own!

Kudos to the leadership and teamwork of this place. You can tell by the way the team worked with each other to make every single thing - from the superb food (get the trio and filet mignon!) to amazing human experience!

Tabi-ji is not just the greatest Teppanyaki restaurants in Orange County but it’s the greatest in all of California! I’ve been coming here for six years and never found another Teppanyaki place that can top this one in the entire state! While the food here is top tier and amazing, what it makes this restaurant so special is how super friendly, personable and hospitable the staff are. If you come here more than once, the staff here will remember you, your name and will treat you like family. All the chefs here are masterful at their craft and my favorite is the head Richard who will prepare your food to your liking. Like traditional Teppanyaki restaurants, your meal comes with soup, salad, steamed rice or you upgrade for fried rice, shrimp appetizer and hibachi. vegetables.
My personal favorites here are the châteaubriand paired with their hibachi chicken. The garlic butter they use here is the best tasting I’ve had anywhere and their ginger sauce and mustard sauce are out of this world and will give your meal those delicious umami flavors you find typically expect from in Japanese cuisine. If you’re tired of Benihana and looking for the ideal Teppanyaki restaurant is the restaurant must come to. He will never regret it.
