Tabu Shabu in Orange County is seriously a foodie's dream come true. The flavors are just out of this world, especially the marinated chicken – it's like a burst of deliciousness in every bite. And oh boy, the variety of meat options they have is just incredible! You'll be spoiled for choice. The vibe in there is awesome too, with lively music setting the perfect mood. Plus, the staff are super friendly and on the ball with their service. Oh, and those kale noodles? Trust me, they're surprisingly tasty! If you're in Orange County and looking for a spot with amazing food, cool vibes, and great service, Tabu Shabu is where it's at!

Good food, great service, and an overall good experience. Every one of the staff members could be asked for assistance and our server herself was always around for anything too. There was a point where the server wasn't around and the other servers asked if my group needed anything. Would definitely recommend and am looking forward to going back.

Great general service. Fresh ingredients. Fun ambiance -- communal side-by-side seating around a large oval dining space. You're sitting with strangers. Interesting!Other highlights:- Parking is tough. There isn't a dedicated parking lot so plan accordingly. I had to walk about 10 minutes.- If you're a spice-aholic, be sure to say yes to the hot drop. 1 drop is plenty of fire and burn. So venture cautiously.- Say yes to marination of the protein. That means that they add sesame oil, garlic and scallions on the meat. Makes it more flavorful. My one constructive feedback is the flow of service. It looked like there were sufficient staff. However, my person was extremely busy while the others were sometimes milling around. It would be great if the team could be more collaborative and proactive to step in for their overloaded peer. My neighbor and I needed help. We kept looking up and wanted help but our wonderful server was so busy. No one else bothered to pick up the slack -- to make eye contact or to ask if we needed help. With this improvement, it would take this experience to the next level. 5 stars.

Wish I could keep this joint a secret but the word has spread rapidly especially since this area is near a college campus. There are definitely pockets of time where large crowds come and could make the wait time very long, but if you go during non peak times (day/weekday not weekend) you can try one of the best shabu options in Orange County. We love their dipping sauce and their ponzu sauce. Sauce completely changes the complexity of the dish and overall taste, and they've mastered it. The meat that comes out is always high quality, and I overheard there are some nice split options (though I wouldn't share my plate with anyone!). Inside there is football on the screen too which is needed during football season. They are meticulous about cleaninf and I always feel full in the best way possible after leaving. I wish I could bottle up their dipping sauces for home! But for now a visit to this part of old town orange is a regular occurrence for my husband and I.

BEST DATE PLACE!! We had so much! Mia was a great waitress! We were so impressed with how quick the waitlist went! The teamwork between the staff was incredible! We felt so spoiled, and it was a busy Saturday night! If you like spicy ask for the hot drops! We WILL be back!! Great food! Loved the bok choy and prime ribeye!

Absolutely superb food of the highest quality. Wish there were more NOODLES in the offerings, but otherwise this is an exceptional dining experience not to be missed for those seeking the FRESHEST and highest quality Vegetables and Meat available. It was our first visit and the staff was excellent and patient with answering all questions and instructing us in the process of how to prepare our Shabu dishes. Very pricey, but the quality and service is on point!! Will definitely return, highly recommend this exceptional dining establishment.

Love this place, and the staff. Which is why it sucks to come and find out they're closing 45 minutes early. Again. Love the food and the atmosphere and the staff. Truly. But the hours need to be updated or posted as "variable" if staff isn't willing to stay open posted hours. I guess generally speaking come here early. You'll have to wait but it's worth it. The food is honestly so good that I travel for it, so I'm a little spicy over the hours not being accurate enough for me to have some tasty tender "marinated" meats and spicy broth drops to fix this need.

Definitely my favorite Shabu spot. Both the food and service were exceptional! It was our first time and the servers were attentive and friendly- they recommended me the half spicy miso and half tonkotsu broth and it did not disappoint. My friends and I ordered a few different kinds of meats and seafood and everything tasted super high quality and fresh. I love how they marinated everything and the sauces were sooooo good. I’m craving it as I write this review… can’t wait for our next trip back here!
