Charming little spot with cheerful decor and welcoming staff. Probably best suited to small groups as it's quite cozy. Went for my birthday with family, including elderly-ish mom who enjoyed the food and was treated very kindly by the staff.

Indian food is one of my favorite types of food, so I was excited to order takeout of four items when in the area in mid-January. Chicken tikka masala: This was the best of the items I ordered. The sauce was flavorful, and the chunks of chicken were generous. Coconut curry chicken: This item was very good, and I would get it again. As with the chicken tikka masala, the sauce was flavorful, and the chunks of chicken were generous. Saag paneer: This item was a huge disappointment, all the more because I typically absolutely love it when it is done well. Both the cubes of cheese and the greens portion were bland, almost as though the chef forgot to include most of the spices. I was puzzled and saddened by this offering. Lachcha paratha: This was a slightly different style of paratha than what I have become accustomed to, but I enjoyed it for what it was, and it was a great vehicle for consuming the extra sauce from the chicken dishes (especially since rice was not included with my meal). If I lived in the area, I'd probably ask to speak to the chef or the owner about what seemed to go wrong with the saag paneer, and I'd likely give it another chance if I were convinced I received an off batch. I would order all of the other items again if in the area and craving Indian food.

Solid Indian food spot in the East Bay! Tbh would recommend this spot because of the great service and the small biz feel, staff is super friendly. - The CTM is a bit expensive without it coming with a naan or rice, but it's still good - Garlic naan was a bit dry and more on the crispy side (vs the fluffy buttery naans) - mango lassi was a star would def get again

-------- a menu that's unintelligible to us 'murricans. each entry needs a couple of words of explanation . the only entry that's perfectly clear is "beer $5 " and "wine $8 " . but then, what beer and what wine ? nope . . . the food was no problem, there's enough of it (no matter what you order ) to fill you up ! and it tastes good - kinda like mom used to make when you were in middle school . we ran into a minor problem with the wine. a bottle that had been open for quite a long time . the boss immediately replaced it with a new bottle and gave us the whole bottle for the price of 3 glasses . ------- the beer, wine and soda pop cooler is so noisy it's hard to have a conversation . . . altogether a fun dinner for us adventurous sorts ! . . .

We just ate dinner here and it was crazy delicious!! We had Bhel Puri for an appetizer, and it was sooooooo good! It's an Indian street food that I've never seen (to the best of my recollection) on a local restaurant menu. We also had Daal soup, Vegetable Biryani and Tikka Masala. Everything tasted incredible and I can't wait to return and try their other dishes.

We went to Anya's for lunch Christmas Day and it was as great as our previous visits. The chef kindly made our dishes mild, as our young children don't enjoy spice yet, but everything was still so delicious. The food is always fresh and the staff and atmosphere are welcoming. Everything is wonderful but I recommend starting with bhel puri and ending with malai kulfi. Easy favourites.

Well it might have been good but I made a big mistake and accidentally ordered shahi paneer instead of saag paneer and I really did not like that dish. A big disappointment!

This was our first time ordering from Anya's, and it will be the last. Anya's menu allows the customer to specify the spice level for each dish, and we selected "mild" for everything. What we got was burning-like-the-fires-of-hell hot. So hot that my husband and each took one bite and ran for the cold water tap in the sink. We literally could not eat this very expensive meal. My mouth is still burning from that one bite 30 minutes later. Major fail. Never again.

I wished I could give more stars to this local restaurant but.... Went it to get some food to go during lunch. My food which was supposed to be ready took a 15 minutes wait. I wished I had known but wasn't told about the wait. When I finally took my food and was ready to eat, I realized that my soup as missing the main ingredients (lentils) and it just consisted of a thin transparent broth with literally just few small pieces of veggies. I was very disappointed and definitely not worth the wait and the obey. I will go back to try this place as dine in instead. The food served while I was waiting looked delicious !
