Excellent food, friendly service. Family owned and operated, been going here for years. Best Chinese in Lamorinda!
Ten years ago my favorite Chinese food restaurant closed. I have been searching for a replacement ever since. I found it. The food was fresh, the honey walnut prawns were fresh with plenty of walnuts and amazing flavor. The fried rice was perfect and also fresh. The wonton soup over the top and the orange chicken to die for. My search is over I have finally found what I was looking for. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu!!
I've been looking for a good Chinese food restaurant in the Lamorinda area, and the ones I've tried up to this point have been mediocre. We ordered take out from Szechwan tonight and the food was wonderful! We ordered the honey walnut prawns, potstickers, bbq pork fried rice and orange chicken. Portions were generous, the staff was very nice, and food was delicious. I will definitely be back!
I live in Pinole and it is so hard to find good Jajang Myeon without schlepping all the way to Oakland. I was ordering takeout because we were working late and saw the Chinese Korean section of the menu and got SO excited. It was pretty legit. Next time I might try the jjampong. The other food we ordered was good and pretty just standard Chinese food (not particularly szechwan). I did like that the snow peas/water chestnuts weren't laden with grease and corn starch. Would definitely order again. The Korean Chinese section was a delightful surprise.
My go-to Chinese restaurant choice when I am passing through Orinda. Food is fresh and tasty and take out service is quick. I would have taken some photos but was too hungry.
Even during the pandemic they serve to the freshest quality. This is by far the lightest and freshest food, even for take out. Great portions and now take out everyday.
Great place. Also has Chinese-Korean food off-menu. Highly recommend the jam-pong or jajamyung.
Great food! I've been coming here for years. My favorites: Mandarin Style Ginger Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, Prawns with Walnuts, and anything Mu-Shu. This place is a must.
Ordered beef chow fun and tomato beef chow mein to take out. Both had ample very good quality meat but the serving portions on a whole were on the small side. They only filled the take-out boxes about 2/3 to 3/4 full whereas most other places I go to will fill the box entirely full. The chow fun was sparse on the bean sprouts and green onions and the sauce on the tomato beef chow mein, although tasty, was kind of watery. Although I was disappointed with the small portions and the slightly better than so-so cooking, the beef chow fun and tomato beef chow mein nevertheless hit the spot for me. Normally I would give this place 3 stars but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and give them a 4 because they were really nice and I could tell they were trying to do their best during this unprecedented Covid-19 shelter in place.
This is a neighbor gem, somewhat hidden away in the Orinda Village. We are always surprised with not only the consistently excellent flavor of the food, but also with the amount served. The honey walnut prawns are light, airy, and flavorful. My husband likes the Kung pao chicken. It's spicy but not overwhelming. We both enjoy the cha siu chow fun. The noodles are topped with lots of delicious slices of roast pork. And the servers are cheerful and are always cordial, not always true in many Chinese restaurants.
nice, friendly place with good Chinese food that goes beyond just kung pao chicken. I ordered the black bean seafood which was quite good and a nice selection of scallops, shrimp and calamari.
I get the Orange Chicken frequently for lunch and it's the best I've had.
A definite favorite restaurant. This time we tried the BBQ Pork Chow Fun, along with regular dishes and I have been looking forward to the next visit already, to get that again! Very friendly & competent staff.
On a recent evening visit, the servers were reasonably attentive, but the food itself really was nothing to write home about. Our dishes were unremarkable at best (pork, kung pao chicken) and bland to the extreme at worst (eggflower shrimp soup, mixed veg). We had to add substantial amounts of pepper and soy sauce to get any flavor. Guess we'll pick a different place next time.
First time here for us and wow can't wait to return. For those of you leaving Bay Area, driving through town after town hoping for a good rec, this is it!! Easy on and off freeway too. Food is so fresh! I only wish it were closer to home!
