This is fried fish, done right!! The only thing I am disappointed about is the fact that I didn't know about this place sooner.

We tried it for the first time tonight. It’s the best food we’ve found since moving to CA! I had the seafood combo and the fish and shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned. My husband said it was the best shrimp po boy he’s had since the last time he was in Louisiana. My son and daughter loved their food as well! The service was also great. We will definitely be eating there again and telling our friends!

Friendly people, fast service, Great food. For me the telling mark of Great Cajun food is a Catfish PoBoy, and theirs is On Point! A little slice of Louisiana in your mouth! Best Cajun food in the State!

Food was extremely disappointing the portions and extremely small for the price. The SEAfood gumbo had absolutely no seafood in it. The tri tip po boy and crunch cake was great and about the only thing in my order that had flavor.

I ordered several items (ribs, candied yams, collard greens,...) and it was delicious and flavorful. The staff, family owned, was warm and friendly, very accommodating. I ordered a large (tray) of peach cobbler to go (size not a menu item). They made it for me from scratch, while I ate my meal. I will visit again and will recommend it to friends. They are expanding their space and plan to have music.

Hands down the BEST Cajun food we've had that's close to LA. Only downside is we live far from here but we'll definitely come back because their food is soooo delicious!! Their food is just amazing! It's like they brought New Orleans to California! But what's even better is their hospitality!! Best service, friendly family-oriented people! Thank you so much for everything!

Small restaurant with a large selection of southern eats. We tried the gumbo, shrimp po boy, boudin, and hush puppies. Gumbo texture was great but on the verge of inedibly salty. Boudin was a nice treat since it's not something you see often in restaurants! It's a charming place to get a bite but probably best to get it to go. The restaurant is not designed for large groups and is not very cozy to want to enjoy the meal there.

Was craving fried chicken and found this place on google. OMG AMAZING! The chicken is on the same level as Roscoe's (maybe better) had the sweet potatoes as a side and I fell in love, Mac & cheese was great , potato salad was good (had a little kick) also ordered the peach cobbler but I'm to full to even attempt that right now. Family owned and the owner could not of been sweeter. Can't wait to go back !!!

My girlfriend and I wanted to try out this restaurant for a while, I am happy to say we were not disappointed from the moment we stepped in we were welcomed and taken care of. The food was made to order since it was rather late and we were the only people in the restaurant definitely a take out spot in my opinion the restaurant is rather small. We got the 4 piece friend chicken dinner the ribs with a couple of different sides. Everything was delicious and just felt like home comfort food at its finest. I've had my fair share of creole food but Cajun country cafe for sure at the top of my list.

Everything was great. Catfish could have been more crispy. Greens alittle salty and tough

I love a place like this for dedication to the food over attention to the front of the house. It's not corporate and it's not the same as most places in the area. Take care with what you order and make sure it's something cooked to order! Wife ordered the BBQ chicken and it was old and tough- seemingly in the cooler for way too long. Staff was nice, apologetic and made it right for us. I ordered a catfish sandwich and that was fried to order, no complaints on that. We will return and give them another chance. The atmosphere inside is not a date, or even family friendly so this is more of a take away place- but we Lorne's in and had no problem here.

GETTING HERE: Located in the CVS/Aldi shopping center off Ventura Road and 5th street in Oxnard. There's also a Del Taco in the shopping center area. REVIEW: I am rounding up to 4 stars for the great service! I was a first-timer here and placed my order for pick-up. I have seen this restaurant for ever here and finally made the decision to try them out. I mistakenly thought this was a breakfast cafe type of place. I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Aunt Janet Meat Pie and it was v good! They have made me a repeat customer because I can't wait to try all-the-things based on this awesome first experience. The service was excellent! Thank you! I didn't go inside too far past the counter, but the entire vibe was as if I was placed at Disneyland in the French Quarter area. :) Thank you! For sure for sure for sure do recommend. Can't wait to go back!

Friendly warm staff! Quick service. Love the decor and all the pictures hanging up! We got the Lemon pepper wings & the Cajun Hot wings and they are great! Great flavor and good crunch. I usually DoorDash the hush puppies and the poboys and they are amazing as well.

What a wonderful place! We celebrated my sons birthday with take out. The Alligator Po Boy was the winner! The beautiful owner gave my son a piece of cake that was just heaven! It was so good we forgot to take pictures. We will be back! Can't wait to try more of the menu.
