Tamales and beer what else do you want, in the heart of down town Oxnard where it gets its name and Juan is a great host for karaoke Saturdays!! Definitely going back 😊

This place is amazing the staff to the empanadas🥰so coming back again! I got the chilaquiles verde with birria on top. The salsa verde was delicious 😋. I really wanted to try the churros pancakes.

We came here after a soccer game for late breakfast. We are not from the area. We deive from L.A. My daughter ordered chicken sandwich that's comes with bacon. When her sandwich arrived the bacon was missing. I also noticed that someone's food was sitting on the counter waiting on waitress to pick up for longer than I would have wanted. Lastly, watch out for those bloody Mary's as they are not using a legit volume of alcohol in them, and at $13 a glass...no thank you. I had it removed off my bill. I was told they don't have a liquor license
I responded with, there should have been a disclaimer on the menu. I attached a pic of the bottle they used as alcohol. One of the other parents there felt the same way. My husband ordered the chilaquilles, and regretted it. Said he would have preferred to order his typical asada burrito. Other than that, the other good was okay.

Wide green chilaquiles salty
Sons eggs felt like they where not fresh but from liquid carton ones
I got red chilaquiles with ribeye 6.5/10
Empanada Argentina potato and beef was definitely frozen for a while cause that’s what it tasted like almost 🤮 after bite
Won’t definitely not be coming back

Food was good! The only downside is that almost everything we ordered came out cold and that was a huge downside. Secondly their soda machine did not have enough carbonation and could coffee was cold too. Probably best to visit on a weekday when it’s not too busy? Service was great awesome waitstaff but yeah downside was definitely food temps and we never got offered any refills and once our food came out the waitstaff didn’t really check on us until it was time to get the bill.

Downtown cafe is one of my favorite places to visit. The food is delicious and the environment friendly. Ana and Ale are always very kind and attentive, always greeting everyone as they come in. Exceptional service every time! Highly recommended! 10 of 10
Downtown Cafe is always a wonderful place to go the food is delicious, the environment is relaxed and friendly. 10 of 10 Ana and Ale always make guests feel welcome with their exceptional service.
Overpriced and low quality. The beans tasted old and disintegrated in my mouth. The potatoes were obviously made from those frozen bags. They're also trying to pass off pot roast as machaca.
