The service was fine at El Portal and the food was okay, freshly made. I ordered two asado tacos and a two pollo tacos platter with rice and beans. The salsa bar was a good option, but the tacos did not have salsa rojo on them as ordered. The meat could use some flavor and the asado was oily. My daughter liked the food. The restaurant was clean, and there was plenty of seating, a large TV and restrooms.
Been eating here for 6+ years. They've become super conservative about things like napkins, sauce cups, and chips, but they make some of the best, most consistently good, mexican food I've had this side of the border. If you enjoy chimichangas, their carnitas chimichanga is unbelievable.
If you're looking for good Mexican food this is the place to go. Highly recommend ðŸ‘During the summer it would probably be best to order out it can get pretty hot inside.
