This is basically about the service. Today I placed a pick up at 1230pm. Advised about 20 minutes for pick up so I get there at 1pm. And they have no order ready for me. I keep saying I called in an order and they keep telling me do you wanna place an order. I show them the car that I made it’s almost 20 seconds Please see my order & And instead of trying to fix it, they said “it’s not ready you wait” So I asked him if it’s even been started & The lady just looked at me. I just walked out… I saw my order on the table on a receipt so I know they got it They just never made it. They were not apologetic. They were really rude about it and this is the second time it’s happened so for sure these new owners have ruined this beautiful establishment.
Used to be a really good spot and hadn't been then for years, up until tonight. What a disaster, chicken didn't look at all like chicken. Egg rolls, mushy inside. Dumplings, well one of them had a sticker underneath from a fuji apple...yeah. Offered no sauces, which in hindsight is probably a good thing. Water looked lime tap and glasses/utensils weren't clean. Lady barely spoke when we had questions or time to order, the interaction was awkward almost like we were putting them out by being there. Never once asked how the food was or if we needed anything, like more napkins since they gave us 4 for our party and they aren't the good napkins lol. Sadly, won't be going back.
Arguing in front of me because they got my order wrong. The woman has a open wound on her ankle.. not very sanitary
Kitchen doesn’t look clean and they are not washing hands after touching face etc will not be ordering from here for a while
This one makes me sad. Just like other recent reviews . The food is no where near the same as it used to be back in the days. I grew up in Oxnard and grew up eating this food and it’s sad that’s it not the same anymore. I understand change is gonna happen but this was not for the best. There was no flavor to the food or no color to it. They need to change the name off this restaurant because it’s no longer the Golden Chicken Inn I remember. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone you’re better off getting Panda Express. Especially for the prices that they have here, it’s not worth it. Take your money somewhere else.
Worst food I’ve ever eaten in my life
Authentic Chinese food with big portions.
It is so bad its like im eating dumpster food.
It ain't nothing like it used to be. Me and my husband decided to go have lunch ,he's never been at GCI. So I took him there. It was all bad from the food to the server. My husband's shrimp fried rice taste like it was a week old , it was all mushy and nasty, the egg rolls were just as bad all soggy in the inside, it was disgusting, these people need to shut it down they obviously know nothing about good food or good service. Do not go there and waste your time and money you will be very disappointed.
Online menu says they serve tofu instead of protein like in Kun Pao Tofu, getting there, asked if they had that, the lady said they can't make the dish with tofu.

Yesterday, oct 16, was the first time i went to Golden Chicken Inn since I was young. I remember this place being the place our family would go for family dinner. It was always so delicious and consistent. Yesterday, that childhood memory of this place was ruined, and if I could give this place zero stars, I would.
Upon arriving, the people were kind but immiatly there was a language barrier, which isn't a huge deal but it made it hard to communicate our order. We ordered the chow mein mix, orange chicken, and a bowl of eggdrop soup. What used to be classics for this place. We were given fried, thick wonton strips before our food came, to snack on. Something was off, they were soggy and undercooked. Not crispy at all, but we gave it the benefit of the doubt. That should have been our first red Flag.
when our food arrived, they gave us no plates to eat on until we asked but they were soaking wet. Our chowmein looked odd... there was no color and flavor in the noodles, the beef was undercooked and the chicken didn't look like chicken. We were most excited for the orange chicken but it smelled bad. It smelled like it had been fermented or like the batter had been sitting out and had fermented and tasted rancid. I had to spit it out, I couldn't swallow it. Finally, when the egg drop soup was placed on our table, I was shocked at the apperance. It was a bright red in color, and it had vegetables in it? which I have never seen egg drop soup to appear that way.
I felt extremely heartbroken at the food we were served. This was the first time my boyfriend had been there and I was so excited to share this childhood place of mine, with him. We were extremely disgusted, so I had to leave the food there and ask for the $30 check. I unfortunately will never be coming here again and will never recommend this place.

You’re better off getting 7/11 for dinner. The rice was dry and seemed at least a day old. They someone managed to mess up chicken katsu and this abomination is what they call macaroni salad

Stairwell leads to an upstairs loft with plenty of dining space. The food was delicious the wings were nice and crispy the sauce they provided was flavorful I definitely enjoyed that. I had the shrimp and beef chow mein. The dish was good I just would have like to seen larger shrimp versus the small cocktail shrimp that came with it. Overall still a hot quality dish that was made fresh and came out piping hot.

Unfortunately, not ŵhat it used to be. The food was horrible and staff was so unfriendly. The guy at the register needs to learn to communicate and try to be pleasant in doing so. Will never go back to thos place

This is orange chicken, It's already moldy,But the manager didn´t admit that it was moldy, and the manager said if you find it delicious, please recommend it to more people. And the managers also discriminate against black people. It not a good place.?

I've been going here ever since I was a kid and it's always been good, until recently. Tried it a couple of times with the new owners and garbage!! They changed the menu and the food is too damn greasy and tastes horrible.
