It's In the Sauce BBQ

The worst bbq I have ever tried. The mac and cheese has absolutely no flavor. The only good thing was the bbq beans. Never again coming back.

I live and work in the area, have been looking for new spots to try out and found this bbq joint with phenomenal reviews. First off, everyone working here is very friendly and inviting, you can tell that they like working here which is awesome! Also, the bbq sauce and garlic bread were also very-very good. Unfortunately here's the not so awesome... I ordered the 3 meat plate with tri-tip, brisket, and ribs with coleslaw and Mac n cheese as sides. What I wanted to taste was what the reviews were speaking of, instead I just got bland meats absolutely saturated in fat juice (I couldn't even tell that they were cooked in the badass smoker out front) and sides that were equally as disappointing... I'm really hoping that this was just an off-day for them, bad Unfortunately this was my experience today.

Two bites in and holy moly!!! I needed to write a review STAT!!!! I got the burnt ends and Mac and cheese. My mind is blown. The meat doesn’t even need sauce. It’s ridiculously tender and tasty. Oh my. I can’t find the words to say anything else! Highly recommend.

My first time in there as soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile from the staff.
The brisket sandwich was great the meat was tender,smoky, and the sauce that I asked for was the right amount of spicy to it. It was great on the brisket sandwich, and the mac&cheese was good as well.
Overall, it was a great place, definitely going back and asking for the extra spicy sauce

Very friendly gentleman at the register and overall great experience with the staff. Immediately felt welcomed and excited to try the food!

Food presentation is mouth watering and the taste definitely matches it (I ordered the tri tip + brisket combo with a side of Mac & Cheese).

Another 5 star review here. I had the brisket and baby backs. Superb! No sauce needed. This bbq is good on it own. You have another regular customer now.

The moment I walked in I knew I had found my BBQ spot. The whole experience was amazing. I will be coming back and telling other's about my experience. Can't wait to go back for more. So worth it.

We read great reviews and decided to try it. Ribs and pulled pork were delicious. Staff was very friendly. Only problem is lack of seating, so we took ours home. Will definitely be back!

Now I see why this place has 4.9 stars I’ve been in California for 2 weeks now trying out all sorts of food and it’s all been great but this place here did not disappoint!! Friendly staff great food great prices, it’s a must try do not deprive yourself of a opportunity to eat here it’s that good.

Only thing I hate is that I'm 100 miles away!
One of the best BBQ places in SoCal! $25 got me 3 meat combo, Texas toast, corn bread and Mac and cheese. I even got some great tasting Lemonade to go with that. It's a must try place!

Everything you read about how good the food is true, the food is amazing - Texas style BBQ. When they say they are awarded the best in Ventura, no joke, it's soooo good!

Must get brisket, ribs, chessey potatoes (seasonal), Mac and cheese, corn bread.

Spicy BBQ sauce is sooooo good!

Pricing is very affordable for BBQ.

Finally, I grew up in Ventura, and this place felt like a homecoming, I do not remember people being this nice, but this southern hospitality and charm makes me want to come back - I wasn't even dressed

Secret hack: the pies come with free ice cream :-)
