Best mexican food in town. And it is now closing forever today 9/29/23 sad day in El Rio. Me and my familia ate there for many decades since I was a kid.
Flew into LA and was meeting friends in Ventura/Oxnard. Had no clue where to eat. Found Monetzuma on google. Extremely happy we found them. Food was delicious! Margaritas were refreshing, salsa had just enough bite to it. I am horrible at remembering names, but the younger gentleman that waited on is was super informative and polite. When we come back out next year we will be stopping in again!

Great little Mexican restaurant. All the food we got was very good (asada and carnitas tacos, enchilada, tamal). The tacos were huge and covered in guacamole. The tamal came with enchilada sauce and cheese - delicious! The biggest surprise was the salsa - a bit picante but delicious.The building looks a bit run down, but inside, the staff were consistently cleaning, and the kitchen appeared to be well taken care of.Overall, great Mexican food and service. Highly recommended!

Food was worth the wait. a little short handed but food made up for it the waiters was moving non stop and everyone was always told by the main waiter. That he appreciates our practice for the the long wait and he was always helpful and polite he was very calm and took care of his costumer's to the fullest
