We discovered this spot even before we had a chance to fully familiarize ourselves with the area. Coincidentally, a few nights earlier, we had dinner upstairs at the Lookout Bar. While the nightlife at Mrs. Olens was definitely lively and cool—personally, not my usual scene—it was fun to watch the punk rock mosh pit from outside. We arrived on a Sunday morning expecting it to be busy, but to our surprise, it was quite quiet around 8:30 AM. For breakfast, I tried the chilaquiles, as well as the pancakes and French toast. The flavors were good and satisfying, though nothing particularly extraordinary. There was an extra charge for eggs, which was expected with the price increase, overall, the meal was enjoyable. I’d love to come back and try their Bloody Mary’s—they looked incredibly refreshing and delicious!

The service was excellent and pleasant, but the food was truly disappointing. Flies were everywhere, and they even managed to get to my food.
I couldn’t stand any of the dishes. My Tri-tip was overcooked to the point where it tasted like eating a tire. It was a complete disaster, earning a 0 out of 10. My hash browns were a mix of overcooked and undercooked, resulting in a bland and unappetizing taste. They were equally bad, earning a 0 out of 10. My eggs and toast were the only saving graces, with a taste of 8 out of 10.
My husband and father-in-law’s food was also overcooked and bad.

The prices are a joke for subpar reheated food. Very nice obstructed view of the harbor with abysmal food 200% over market value. Oxnard is full of better options.

At just 17, Bella’s psychedelic guitar riffs lit up classics like “Sugar Magnolia” and “The Other One,” blending perfectly with Cubensis’s tight grooves. Emerson Rose’s vocals on “Morning Dew” gave me chills! The intimate vibe of this cozy venue brought Deadheads of all ages together, radiating the Grateful Dead’s timeless spirit. The new owners are doing it right. The original name is Mrs Olsen's Coffee Hut and it's finally living up to that name! This morning I met a friend for breakfast and the coffee was rich and strong, the way it should be. Great service and the pancakes and eggs were cooked perfectly. For years I never went back but will definitely be going again.

I celebrate my 65th birthday on Sunday March 16 all the staff was very nice and did a great job. I also received a gift certificate from the owner
Mrs Olson's food is good and the portions are big but the service is poor. I want to like this place because I live very close but the 3 times I've been there, the service has been awful. This last time we were there, once we got our food, we didn't see anyone until we got our check.

When visiting family in Simi Valley, we always try to include breakfast at Mrs, Olsen's restaurant in the itinerary. Waterside tables, good food, yummy mimosas, darts, live music. It is a treat, for sure!
