I've been going to this place since I was attending Rio Mesa! I have since moved to Vancouver, WA and there are teriyaki places EVERYWHERE. None compare, still. Sauce is a perfect texture, veggies are always perfectly steamed, portions are amazing. I was so glad to see that this place survived Covid.

While up in Oxnard to check out a car, we spent hours at the dealership from noon until 4 p.m., and by then, we were starving. As we waited for the car to be cleaned and charged, I quickly searched for food nearby. Turns out thereās a Marketplace at Oxnard and a Costco just 450 meters away from the dealership, so we decided to head there for a meal.
Out of all the restaurant reviews, we landed on a 4.5-star spot called New Chicken Bowl Teriyaki. The place has a simple setupājust two rows of tables on either side and a counter for ordering. I asked the owner (maybe?)what he would recommend, and of course, he suggested the Chicken Teriyaki. We ordered two large A1 mealsā$8.95 eachāand one small for $7.95. I was shocked by the pricesāunder $10 for a meal! When the food was served, I was even more surprised by the portion sizes. The chicken had crispy skin and juicy meat, with a teriyaki sauce that wasnāt too salty. It came with a side of cabbage, slices of carrot, and broccoli, making it a balanced meal.
The owner gave us two bottles of sauceāgarlic sauce and spicy sauceāso you could add flavor to your liking. Overall, it was incredibly budget-friendly. I was full after just half my portion and took the rest home. The only slight downside is that everything comes pre-packed in plastic takeout containers, even if youāre dining in. I guess itās a way to save time and effort, and it makes it easy to pack up any leftovers right away.
My husband, who has a big appetite, finished his entire meal and said he was stuffed. If youāre in the area, this place is worth checking out for a quick, affordable bite.

First time, got the hot garlic chicken bowl. Really good. Chicken had extremely crispy edges but was still juicy. Great flavor. Guy behind the counter was friendly and humble. Canāt beat the price for the portion either. 10/10

Wow !!! First visit here and Iām blown away for the fact that there is still good people in the world . To start the guy behind the counter , his personality is super humble and very nice . Prices are good , quality of food is great and amount of food for the price great !!! I asked how much for extra veggies and the guy gave it to me FREE even tho I asked for him to charge me . Place is clean , menu is simple . This is a must have when ever you are in Ventura !!!

Been going here about four times a week for the past two years and I love it. They have great portions for the price and are always welcoming and hospitable. They also remember orders if you are a regular! I would recommend everyone to make this your lunch spot if you are in the area
