Wow - What an incredible hidden gem Lazy Dog in Oxnard is! My wife and I have been loyal customers at this location for years. We keep coming back time and again because the food is absolutely delicious, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the stellar customer service makes us feel like family. A huge shout out to General Manager Tommy who runs a tight ship - he knows customers by name, checks on tables personally, and ensures everyone on staff provides prompt, attentive care. Kristy is another one of the managers, and her energetic personality, thoughtful recommendations, and attention to detail embody the high bar set by the management team here. Whether enjoying scrumptious appetizers on the patio during happy hour or celebrating a special occasion with their mouthwatering prime rib in the dining room, Lazy Dog Oxnard has become our absolute favorite go-to spot. The portions are generous, ingredients fresh and well-prepared, and menu options diverse with something new to try every visit. We cannot recommend this local gem highly enough to anyone in the area looking for a top-notch dining experience paired with hospitality at its finest. Kudos to Tommy, Kristy, and the entire management and service staff - keep up the fantastic work! You have won our loyalty for life and we look forward to continuing the tradition for years to come. (And I should note - this glowing review is purely from the heart after years of outstanding service, not a paid endorsement in any way!)
Good food and sevice. The salads were very good and the bowel was well done. The portions wre well sized. Service was good. Restaurant was quite
Having great customer service and excellent food sitting at the bar. The minute there was a transition at 4 the new employees came in and all the employees could do was visit with each other they completely ignored and forgot about the customers, obviously more important to visit with there friends. As a business owner I know how hard it can be to be consistent, but I watched the employees completely loose there customers, and we all left. This review is for the management, because you have a problem. Great experience until I assume shift change.
Eric was an amazing waiter ?
My experience at Lazy Dogs Restaurant & Bar in Oxnard CA Collection was awesome. I was there with my 3 boys, and they are wild, and my son knocked his drink over into the main walkway. Within a couple seconds the Host at the front called and someone came with a mop and towels & cleaned it up so quick. Even though the spill was extreme they made us feel very grateful and welcomed. Customer Service was great. Members of Lazy Dogs that were involved are: Kelly (Host), Paul H (Server) and Trevor (Manager) as they have extremely good teamwork.
I’ve been here several times and the food and service has always been excellent.
Our experience was nice! Food was delicious, good attitude just great
Fantastic experience! First, the restaurant is decorated adorably with all kind of dog themed touches, like a dog bone for the door handle. Next, the food was great! From our large group, we got the umami fries (sauce reminiscent of honey mustard, filling, not at all greasy), brussel sprouts (complex flavor, nice char on the outside), waffle chips (with loads of butter, garlic, parsley, and love), fried chicken platter (sauce was mildly spicy and reminded me of chicken and waffles, a sort of breakfast-like palate, mashed potatoes were creamy and unctuous, spinach and sweet potato side was delicious, I ate it all and I'm not usually a fan of spinach!), Fried hushpuppies (name is misleading, they're really more like fried loaded mashed potato balls, but they were quite delicious with a mildly spicy aioli on top and the more you ate the yummier they were), the kids breaded chicken nuggets (perfectly crispy, was a chunk of real chicken, not reconstituted mashed chicken like material often found in kids meals), and the black and blue burger (it was good, filling). And last but very important, the server. We had Kevin, who was such a wonderful guide. He was friendly, patient, personable, helpful, and went above and beyond for our family. We chatted about how we were from out of state on vacation, and he brought us complementary waffle chips (see above, they were AMAZING), recommended the Umami Fries (which were also AMAZING), and when I said me and my spouse were going to share the fried chicken plate, he brought it out neatly laid out on 2 separate plates (which was a really nice touch). And upon hearing it was our kids birthday this week, he surprised her with a birthday dessert. The look on her face when he brought out a thoughtfully made ice cream treat (with extra cherries for her) was absolutely priceless. Needless to say, he made all our day. We would definitely return to this establishment, both for the food and atmosphere, but also for the wonderful and welcoming service.
This restaurant is clean and provides plenty of parking because it is in a shopping complex. The staff although friendly were slow in taking our drink order but our waiter Jameson was on point after that. I truly enjoyed my dinner although I wanted to avoid certain things because I was on the fence, i.e. spicy maple syrup and white gravy (sometimes your meal just gets saturated with it). I ordered the fried chicken dinner which was hand-dipped buttermilk boneless chicken breast, red skin potato mash, white gravy, spiced maple syrup, sautéed spinach with smoked bacon. OMG heavenly. Our teen ordered the flank iron steak (she enjoyed it) with strawberry lemonade. First one that actually had real strawberries. My husband had the chicken parmesan. He thought the pasta was dry but I think this is an easy fix with asking for extra pasta sauce. Would definitely dine here again.

dined outside on patio. Server Taylor was amazing - friendly and attentive. crispy chicken salad and fried fish tacos subbed cole slaw for the beans/rice were all amazing.
I never get to the point where I can order an actual meal here... I am mesmerized by the delicious appetizers and order more... I then realize I am too full for a main course. I love sitting outside at the fire pit and petting the friendly dogs of some of customers. Great people... great staff... great food... great ambiance.
We arrived at the hostess station to be told the wait for 4 people on the patio was 20 to 30 minutes. We walked back to the patio to wait and noticed only 3 of the tables were occupied. We figured the wait would be less than 30 minutes with so many empty tables. Boy were we wrong. We watched as one table emptied and noticed it took 18 minutes to seat another party in the spot. Ridiculous. We were finally seated 35 minutes after arriving. The table we were seated at had been empty the entire 35 minutes We had been waiting. Does this make any sense? The hostesses in the front are always clueless at this location but why didn't the one on the patio communicate there were lots of empty spots? The hostess seems to always say the wait is 30 minutes. Maybe that's the only sentence they know? It's baffling. Why not fill the seats and get more revenue? Food and service was good once we were seated.
I travel the entire state and Lazy Dog is my "go to place". Extremely disappointed with kitchen at Oxnard, worst kitchen experience since my visits to all locations!!
