I went here because of the amount of reviews. All of the things on the menu sounded great. I ordered chilaquiles and birria tacos & burrito. I really thought I was going to be a great place from what I had read, but the only thing that was edible were the eggs which I ate because I was starving, but the chips were already soggy on chilaquiles and I felt sick for days after eating the taco because of such an incredible amount of grease. I hate to post a bad review about such a popular place but I definitely won’t be going back. I felt ill for days. Maybe I’m just not used to eating so much grease. I had one bite of the burrito and there was a ton of meat in it and so I was looking forward to eating the rest, but the grease was just too much.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Don Chentes in Oxnard, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. 🌟
Our waitress, Nancy, truly stood out. She was exceptionally courteous and friendly, making us feel right at home. Her positive attitude and attentiveness really enhanced our dining experience! It's always nice to be served by someone who genuinely cares about their guests.
As for the food, it was pretty good overall, especially considering the prices. However, I thought the dishes could benefit from a little more spice to elevate the flavors. Just a hint more seasoning would take it to the next level! But, honestly, I still enjoyed what I had.
In summary, if you're looking for a friendly place to grab a meal without breaking the bank, Don Chentes is a solid choice. I’m looking forward to visiting again and trying more of their menu! 🍽️✨

Very upsetting this place doesn’t take TAP “Apple Pay” came to make an order for my family and had to go somewhere else for lunch. What a shame- food is ok but I’ll drive down the street to Taco De Mexico instead

Tacos don Chente has been my favorite place to go since 3 months ago, every time I need to get a fast meal for my family due to my busy work schedule. Don Chente is my first choice they make it so ease and worry free,just need to place my order and they will have it ready for me by the time I get there and when I said worry free I really mean that. it is so important that you get what you asked for specially when you need to get home and get everything ready for the family and have a nice dinner or lunch. Food is always fresh and hot they even make sure that you get extra condiments, I really recommend that if you haven’t visited them Do it. you will not regret it because they will make sure you get a great service and a tasty meal.

My family enjoy going here to eat. We are always pleased with the food. I particularly enjoy the salads, they are some of the best I have ever had. The quesa birrias are also very good. The drinks are good, too.
On Sundays there is live music. I would recommend going there to check it out.
