The whole family fun hibachi experience at teppan is gone. My server Alexa didn't do a good job of checking in on us, the busboy helped us out more. Then to charge $1 for sriracha is just really silly including the sushi bar that only serves California rolls. Osabi has my vote for best hibachi in Ventura county.

Great place to eat! BYOB is the best! Calamari, shrimp, and scallops were real good. The new york steak was a bit chewey but everything else was great. Service was also good and they were busy. I'll definitely be back.

The cook was very boring! They don't serve you anything for your birthday. Steak was ok

Overall the chefs performance was good and entertaining but the quality of the meats is mediocre- If you order fried rice as an up charge it is not made on the teppan table! Instead comes from the back and is not lovely- Will try again but not super impressed

I have been here quite a few times. They have great food & service. And there's always something going on in the background showing off their cooking skills.

We celebrated my son's birthday today at Teppan (his choice). We had frequented here a lot when he was little, so definitely felt nostalgic. We had the best servers. They were very attentive and kind. They even sang him happy birthday . The ambiance was great. The food was awesome as well! It was my father's first time here and he loved it. The shrimp is always the best with the white sauce and veggies yum! Highly recommend! Definitely arrive at least 30 minutes before your targeted dinner time as it does get really busy. Thank you again for making my son's birthday memorable!

Upon being seated we waited about 20 minutes to get our drink orders, and then after they brought drinks they took the food order. We waited another 20 minutes for the cook. Wait times were really long and I was ready to leave before it all started. I think they need more cooks for dinner time. $2.75 extra for "Fried Rice" that is not cooked in front of you. There is nothing on the menu that says this and when you order the servers DO NOT say anything. (Save your money) I think most people order fried rice at this style of restaurant so they can see it made in front of them. (There was no "egg trick" to see- no skills here, just table side cooks) The Fried Rice here is not like fried rice that I have ever had. There is almost no egg and the veggies are sparse. It's super dark almost like it's soaked in soy sauce but it doesn't taste like that. Idk not sure how they make it so dark with no flavor. The miso soup is just broth (maybe even just like warm water) but no tofu pieces in it. It's like puréed in it? Idk you'll see.. wasn't bad but seriously thinking "what is this" the entire time. The salad is served with no tomato. Another disappointment. I've never been at this style restaurant and not had 1 cherry/grape tomato with this style salad. Also no carrot. It was literally iceberg with ginger dressing. The dressing was good. I feel like because it's Oxnard the owner/operator think we wouldn't know the difference in service/dishes but it's very obvious they cut corners. A HUGE positive: the meat was really tasty and the cook made it all perfectly. I believe our cook was new because of how it all went down.. Chicken was put on the grill first, and after that was started he then did the veggies, and then the shrimp .. As he finished the shrimp and served it he then finished the veggies but never added the bean sprouts and we were given these after we had finished everything. We joked at the table it was the "dessert" The meat was perfectly cooked but the order was a little wonky so everything was consumed as it finished cooking but not as a whole plate. If you waited for it all to be finished the shrimp and veggies would have been cold. For the flaming onion trick it was short stacked and steamed through the grill like a train- so if you want to see the volcano you might have to ask? Or maybe they don't do volcano onion at all. Not sure. There are many places to go for meat, rice and veggies- our group chose this style restaurant for the "show" and skills of the cooks that make it in front of us. There was no real skill - more like short order cook style. When our cook arrived he was hitting his spatulas together to make noise but no real tricks or toss (you know the stuff they typically do at Hibachi Style Restaurant). Prior to the experience I thought the prices were reasonable but after the experience I think it's too much money for this restaurant . I'm tired of feeling ripped off so owners can line their pockets. I can't say I would go back or recommend. I have a grill at home I can use. Really came for the experience. I can see in photos from past years the meat portions were larger. So some skipflation occurring. We were sat with an Asian gentleman and as soon as our cook stepped away he started to question what we all just experienced and he ragged on the quality of fried rice saying it was Mexican Rice... so it wasn't just my group who felt the same way. 5/6 people at the table ordered fried rice (that's almost $15 extra dollars for the table) and again it's not cooked in front of you and it's not authentic fried rice. You get about 8oz (1 cup of cooked rice) Also when we asked the cook what the white sauce was he said "idk it's white sauce" it would be nice to know the kind of flavor/taste it could add but we were told it's white sauce. I would rate higher but for $200+ dollars for 5 adults and a child it would have been nice to have a "good show&quo

What a weird experience tonight for our early dinner. We were sat immediately but waited for around 10 minutes for a server to take our order. The chef came quickly and cooked for us. He seemed disgruntled for some reason. Maybe just because he was cooking for two of us? He didn’t do some of the normal acts like tossing shrimp. The food overall was insanely salty and unfortunately we couldn’t eat most our food. It was a really weird overall vibe with our service and then the food just didn’t cut it.
