Tierra Sur At Herzog Wine Cellars

Oh what a dreadful horrible experience = wilted salad. soup so salty we couldn't even get it into our mouths, meat tough and chewy as can be and literally burnt to a crisp! Food lacked flavor and creativity + vegetables were rough-hewn and improperly cooked. Presentation completely absent. Bad odor in the restaurant a+ dirty everywhere! The most obnoxious, degrading pious staff imaginable! All of this at-star prices too! Nasty, evil repulsive!!!! Repugnant! Terrible!

Made a reservation for 10/23. Was called in advance by the restaurant manager to be told that the restaurant would not be open but could make a reservation for the bar and the manager also confirmed the self guided wine tour was open. Upon arrival, was told the tour was under construction and only half the bar menu was available.

Excellent meal paired with the right wine.

fine dining restaurant inside the winery. Not exactly a weekly haunt except for the upper 5% of us... otherwise an excellent dining experience.

This isn’t our first time dining at Tierra Sur, and it definitely won’t be our last. The food and service are consistently excellent. We started with the potato soup, which was rich and flavorful. For the second course, we tried the seabass tostada and the stuffed carpaccio—both beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. For the third course, we had the ribeye, cooked perfectly and full of flavor.

Every dish feels carefully crafted, with fresh ingredients and a lot of attention to detail. The staff is attentive and friendly, which makes the whole dining experience even better. Tierra Sur is one of those rare places where you know you’ll always get a great meal.

Very nice atmosphere, good service. However, 22% of service fees were added to our check, without asking us. I always thought that the amount of the tips is a choice of the customers. I might be added that percentage of tips myself, but it didn't feel right that the restaurant adds this without asking me

We were seated near the kitchen and I could overhear everything the staff was saying and not all of it was appropriate. We were pleased with the food portions and taste as well as the wine pairing. Truly the ambiance was what was lacking. Unfortunate as it was our first experience and we were celebrating my birthday.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and traveling to multiple wineries in California. We had a fantastic experience here. The service, food and wine were all great! Special shoutout to Elijah, our sommelier, for making the experience even more enjoyable!

I realize that kosher food is priced at a premium. However, when spending close to $200 per person, I do expect the quality of food to be far superior than what we had eaten. From a quality perspective, I believe that the restaurant is overpriced by at least 1/3 of where they should be. When I made the reservation , I naïvely thought that we would be overlooking a vineyard and that the view would be part of the overall experience. There is no view per se. Again, it was a lovely dinner, but the price point was not consistent with the quality of the food or the experience 

I was really looking forward to going here. We ordered a veal chop and it was not great. Super salty and extremely tough. They replaced with a ribeye. It was good but not great. I ordered it medium rare and it was medium. There was also zucchini on top and it was also salty The smoked mashed potatoes were amazing. The service was superb.

Honestly one of the worst meals I have ever had. Couldn't recommend any part of the food. The wine was amazing though!

I have been going to this restaurant for years. The food is outstanding as is the service. It's an elegant well thought out dining experience plus of course you can't go wrong with the wines. Definitely recommend it, especially for special occasions.

I'm a member at the Herzog Winery and always have great experiences with my wine tasting... This was my third time to the restaurant, but it had been a while... The place was empty, which I'm not surprised based upon the service and food... It was definitely very good quality food But it was served a little overcooked and cold or lukewarm at best... On all four dishes... Service was spotty as well. I probably would've complained, but I had a good client in town who I had taken out to dinner and I didn't wanna make a big deal out of it, but I did mention it to the restaurant manager who came over to check and see how we were doing about halfway through our meal. but we were so hungry. We had eaten about half of our meal already, but I did tell him about the temperature of the food And pretty much exactly what I am saying here... Of course they did nothing...  for the ridiculous prices that they are charging... This was a far cry over from satisfactory... Tierra Sur definitely needs to sharpen their pencil... I hope this review entices them to do just that.
