Came to our favorite place to eat on our annual trip and again, was so so happy. The food was amazing as always and the staff went out of their was to make my daughter a macaroni and cheese pasta that she said was the best she had ever tasted. It was her first time dinning with us and she said we will be back (lol) Love this place!
I rarely ever leave reviews and this is my first one ever on yelp but the interaction I just had on the phone left me shocked and I want others to be aware of this place. I have never been treated with such disrespect by restaurant staff before. I called in to ask for a reservation for the same night and wanted to learn more about their restrictions regarding dine ins (due to COVID-19). The lady on the phone immediately got super rude and said "what do you want, I don't know what you're talking about". (After more than 3 months of shelter in place, I'd assume every restaurant would know what I'm talking about). I remained calm (and very polite) and further tried to explain and asked about their restrictions regarding dine ins and whether they have an outdoor area (we're from the Bay Area and dine ins were restricted to those serving outdoor areas). She then said "we don't have a patio" and hung up. She just hung up on me? Why? I have no idea. I felt really bad about this interaction and I will never even think once about going to this place. Unacceptable!
This was by far our favorite find during our recent stay on the Monterey Peninsula. A place whose clientele skews local, but are warm and welcoming to out-of towners. Portions that are satisfying without being overwhelming. Friendly staff who treat you like you're an old friend. We had takeout dinner during the pandemic. Takeout is always a dicey proposition--even for the best of establishments--but our meal was wonderful. The veal saltimbocca had more flavor than I knew what to do with. The vegetables were done just right. The ravioli was delightful. We can't wait until our next visit to the Central Coast and a chance to drop in again.
Great food + so nice to dine out.
We made a reservation for a birthday dinner. Arrived at the restaurant seated immediately at our table they had put birthday glitter. We can not say enough had delicious their food is. The staff is amazing. Can’t wait to go back.
La Mia Cucina is a bright, cheerful and welcoming restaurant right in the heart of adorable Pacific Grove. The atmosphere is lovely with colorful vintage, framed posters of European liqueurs and aperitifs while the crisp white tablecloths add a touch of classic elegance.La Mia Cucina manages to be elegant but relaxed, service is attentive but not hovering and the food is FANTASTIC!If I could give them TEN STARS I would!Molto buono.
Hands down: the best authentic italian food I've ever had outside of Italy. Every single thing was on point. The tomatoes were fresh and juicy; the bread was warm; the flavors complimented each other perfectly. Every dish was to die for, served hot and fresh at the perfect time. The server, Gabriel, was attentive and kind. The lady at the front was warm and wonderful. The decor is beautiful and the place was upscale. Really just overall the perfect italian restaurant. We were full before the entrees came out but the food was so good that we couldn't stop eating. Big portions and filling but so so delicious!!! I can't wait to come back!
A wonderful little gem for both locals of Pacific Grove and visitors looking to avoid loud and tacky tourist traps. The cheerful, well trained staff make every visit feel special and festive and I have yet to find a dish that is anything less than great. If anything, I'll mention that portions are large, for my taste a little too large as they've prevented me from having dessert a few too many times.
I wish my first time could have been dine in but my takeout order was outstanding. I asked for a recommendation and got the special, Shrimp Scampi. Seafood is not my go to, so I was delighted when the shrimp was the best I have ever had. I finished the whole meal before passing out in a coma. These are very kind folks who put a lot of love into their meals and it shows.
Amazing food!! I have never had lobster raviolis so good. Awsome restraunt!!
There was an amazing Italian restaurant called Joe Rombi’s at the time. It was then shut down but my boyfriend heard it reopened. We googled it and “La Mia Cucina” came up so we thought this was the new name of the restaurant. We called to order pizza and the woman on the phone was absolutely disrespectful and rude. The tone and attitude in her voice she had towards a 19 year old was totally unnecessary. We left with disgust and don’t plan on returning.
We usually celebrate our wedding anniversary at La Mia Cucina, so we ordered a take-home dinner during shelter in place. Our 4-course dinner was delicious, and we savored every bite. The atmosphere of being part of their family was missing, of course!
Amazing food, friendly service and atmosphere. Absolute go to for fine Italian food in PG! Sand Dabs are to die, and the Petrale sole special I had was beyond anything I've had on the peninsula.
What a great restaurant! We just moved to the area and discovered La Mia Cucina several months ago and have been going back ever since. From the moment you walk in the door, with Paula's welcoming smile, you can tell you are welcome and that you will have a wonderful experience. We have had an outstanding experience with every server, but Gio is our favorite. Every dish has exceeded expectations. We have been to many restaurants in Pacific Grove and Monterey, and none of them have bested our experience at La Mia Cucina. This is old world hospitality at its finest. We highly recommend La Mia Cucina.
My husband and I love this place! The service never disappoints and they treat you like family. We're local and we come to La Mia Cucina for all of our anniversary and birthday dinners. The family at La Mia always goes out of their way to make it a wonderful and memorable experience. Make sure you call ahead for a reservation as they fill up fast. We got lucky on our first visit, they were able to fit us in as a walk-in, but I believe that's a rare occurrence at La Mia. Now onto the food.... absolutely-incredibly-delicious! The Lobster Raviolis are a treat for the taste buds. No matter what you get, it won't disappoint. This is the only restaurant in Monterey where I can say I've never had a bad meal or a bad experience.
