Nura Sushi & Island Grill

Got scombroid food poisoning from the fish being left out too long. Also, the timing was extremely slow-- there were two of us, his roll came out first (he liked it which is why I'm giving 2 stars) THEN the appetizer a few minutes later, and THEN my roll came out 25-30 minutes after that (I was so hungry and it was the longest I had ever waited, all the other food was long eaten by the time I got my roll, it wasn't even good, and then I got sick from it). Horrible experience.

Great suishi. Service was good as well. Got seated right away. Food delivery took a bit long but may have been short staffed. More expensive than our usual sushi spot on a city across the bay.

Surprisingly excellent! Rolls were fantastic, generous sized and reasonably priced. We had the PG roll and California roll. Wanted to try the coconut shrimp but it was the one item they were out of, so it must be good! We will be back soon to try it. Great music, service and bathroom was immaculate.

I was in Pacific Grove for 5 nights; came across Nura on the 4th night... went back on the 5th!

So good. Fresh. Fantastic. Friendly attentive and smiling staff made this lone Canadian feel warmly at home.

Chef Aiden not only has deep knowledge and experience but he is also the consummate host, and I was lucky to enjoy some pleasant conversation with him at the end of the evening.

Great sushi, owner is very kind and knowledgeable about sake and great service. We will be back, thank you for having us!

Sushi was great. Beef bulgogi and teriyaki salmon dishes were not good. I had to get up twice to let the staff know I was missing a large portion of my meal.

Nura, please update your hours of operation and on line booking information.

I booked a table using the Reservation link for Wednesday Feb. 5. When we arrived you were closed. The open hours posted on the door showed that indeed you are closed on Wednesday, however the information on the web shows that you are open, plus the reservation app accepted and confirmed the reservation.

Fresh fish, yummy ginger and alittle extra side included of golden radish. Yummmmm. Did not disappoint. The new owners are very passionate about their sushi and quality of fish. He’s been a sushi chef for 20 years. Lots of experience! Family run restaurant.

Wish they would have told us there would be a 50 minute to hour wait for sushi before seating us.

This place was an awesome little gem in Pacific grove! The sushi was delicious and Aidan, the owner, personally greeted us a shared the story of the restaurant. He runs the place with his family and has been making sushi for over 20 years - it shows!
