Love this little place! Sushi is fresh and delicious. Curry is good too.Lots of extras you can't usually get unless it's at a Asian grocery store (pickles, snacks, drinks).Only lost a star because those extras are quite pricey.Food prices are good. We're loyal customers and prefer this location to Monterey, but for dine in we go there.

A cousin recommended we try this little takeout place the next time we were in the Monterey area. So lucky the Pacific Grove opened up restaurants the day we drove down. It was their first day open sine SIP started in March. Great service; friendly and helpful.Ordered the following:Dragon Roll-tempura roll with eel, avocado, to I,o tempura bits and green onion ($16) tasty with not too much overpowering sauceCaterpillar Roll-eel avocado roll topped with more avocado ($13) yummyTempura roll- shrimp tempura and avocado-goodSpicy tuna roll-surprisingly had a good spicy kick at the endYakitori Bento ($11)Tekka maki ($11 for 2 rolls)Everything was fresh and tasty. Definitely a good place to stop, pickup, some tasty sushi and head to the beach or park to enjoy!

Best sushi in Monterey County. The fact that this hole in the wall spot is successful enough to be able to open a sit down restuarant in downtown Monterey should attest to the quality.

Terrible quality I eat Japanese food regularly and this place has to be lowest quality places I've ever had the chance to try.Fish was low quality / frozen. Every Japanese restaurant around the area is a way better option then this placeI wouldn't trust the cleanliness of this place the back looks dirty and messy.

I was in and out in less than five minutes, phoned the order in and the guy was really nice and helpful. It's Quick, it's easy, it's decently priced, it's a great place if you want to pick up something quick for lunch. I got the philly roll it was well balanced with the fish cucumber and cream cheese, they serve it with wasabi and ginger. I'll come back to try more. The philly roll was 9 dollars even out the door plus tip

See above. Very mediocre food and service. They have free barley tea. They had a sign on door that they will soon be closed on Sundays. For locals, there are better places. Okay sushi, not the freshest tasting cuts of fish. We would probably not be back. Spelling of their chirashi should’ve been a tip-off...”z” ?!?

I've been a loyal customer for 15-20 years, for as long as I can remember(PG location), I've also frequented the Monterey location in the past and would recommend them!!! However being a Pacific Grove native I highly recommend PG location. It may be a small little hole in the wall, but still the best sushi on the peninsula great customer service good prices highly recommend !!!!!!!!!!

I stumbled across this place a little while ago and have been coming back since! It isn't the most glamorous place because it is the owners' flagship store. The sushi chef is truly such a nice man and the sushi and sashimi is not overpriced. The food is delicious and they also have a wide variety of beverages and snacks, as well as mochi ice cream and taiyaki (a delicious Japanese red bean waffle dessert in the form of little fish)! I highly recommend ordering any udon, as it is the perfect food to eat on a cold day, or the UnaKyu roll for any unagi-lovers out there. If you're looking for tasty take-out Japanese food, this is most definitely the place to go!
